New Business * Staff Changes in Office; Position available Peggy Becker-Rinkett retired at the end of the December. If you would like to send her notes of congratulations, you can send them to the UCPEA office and they will be forwarded to her. A new Field Rep position has been posted on the UCPEA website. * New Officers on Executive Board Results of the recent elections: Secretary Lisa Pane and Treasurer Giselle Russo who will finish out this year’s term. * Save the Date – April 2 at Alumni House Swing Into Spring, more information forthcoming. * Hiring Committee Update Chris Dahl was able to give an overview of the committee’s findings which can be found in a 38page report at the UCPEA office for those who are interested. The Committee is now a permanent committee of the Executive Board. All Reps are encouraged to read the report. Additions to the Agenda a. Finance Committee Update - TABLED

b. Nominations There is a call out for all positions on the Executive Board and UCPEA Union Reps for the 2013-2015 term. Nomination deadline is March 15. Please nominate someone or yourself. c. COPE Message from VP for COPE from the AFT Conference is that Governor Malloy plans to keep his commitments made to the state employees. There is also a $2Billion initiative for 2016 that will include 75 staff positions. d. Dental Care Comment Concern around employee paying for a service that was previously covered. We need more information. e. ARP/IRS Update There is no update. f.

Inclement Weather Policy Concerns about the communication of closures and why staff needing to stay but faculty and students are allowed to leave. Some people are not receiving emails and some don’t have texts on their phones. And the Emergency Line is no longer being used.

g. Reimbursement HEP checks are scheduled to be paid out on 2/22/13. h. Bldg closing due to weather issues If there is no power and heat, then employees are to contact Teri Dominguez in EH&S. It would then be determined if employees would be relocated or asked to go home. i.

Good & Welfare a. UCPEA email has been problematic but is working to have the issue resolved quickly. b. There are no Union Wires at the meeting but will be put in the mail for members.
