Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 12:06 pm.

Acceptance of Minutes from the 3 September 2014 meeting a) Sheila Kucko made the motion, seconded by Deb Campbell; it was unanimously accepted.

New Business a. Health Insurance Issues There is an interim agreement between Anthem and Hartford Health Care (HHC). It is recommended to bring a copy of the e-mail you received this morning if you need to go to one of the HHC facilities b. Gubernatorial Debate Governor Malloy and Republican candidate Tom Foley will participate in a debate in the Jorgensen Center on Thursday, October 2. Free tickets are still available. Please attend and pay attention on what the candidates are saying. This is very very very very important election for all of us and our families, and your active participation in the election process is crucial. c. Legislative Updates (5. Old Business) Please attend and encourage your area members to attend the Legislative Luncheon on October 14. If you forget about your elected officials, they will forget about you. These elected officials make decision(s) on your jobs, benefits, salary, and contract. It is important for them to know us. It was brought up that it would be helpful to explain in the invitation what this luncheon is about and its importance – some members do not know and they just think it’s another typical luncheon.

d. Need more reps! We currently have 9 vacancies. Peter Morenus will let the reps know which areas have vacancies. Please reach out to your colleagues in these areas. e. Hybrid Unless the retirement date is confirmed, one’s application for conversion will not be moved up on the list; furthermore, the Comptroller’s Office does not guarantee that the paperwork will be completed by the retirement date. Elizabeth Sullivan will look into this. f. Staffing Analysis School of Social Work finally received the result. There has been a lot of meetings subsequently. One of the recommendations from the analysis result was centralizing Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar’s Office and the implementation has started. The Provost’s Office will also form a project team who will realign the rest of the departments and this realignment will take place in 3 months – 1 year. g. Contract Role Play: Article 6, 8, and 9 and various scenarios were discussed. 6.
