UCPEA EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING Minutes December 3, 2015

Attendees – Ken Best, Veronica Cook, Michele Hoff, Peter Morenus, Lisa Pane, Angela Rola, Gisele Russo, Kathy Sanner and Kimeta Straker Guests – Lindsay Jenkelunas, Elizabeth Sullivan and Chuck Morrell 1. Call to Order – Meeting was called to order at 12:37pm 2. Acceptance of Minutes of November 19, 2015 – Motion was made by Russo and seconded by Best. Motion carried. 3. Additions to the Agenda a. Executive Session – Went into Executive Session at 1:05pm, came out at 1:55pm b. Working Families Award – AFT CT President Jan Hochadel has been honored as one of the recipients of this year’s award. A motion was made by Pane and seconded by Morenus to take out a ¼ page ad for $150 out of COPE Budget for the program. c. Education Abroad – There is interest in creating an on-call policy for the office following the Paris attacks. Members will need to find out more information and need to be reminded that if there is potential for one, they are not to be in direct dealing with management. 4. New Business a. Regional Holiday Parties – The Holiday Parties at Waterbury, Stamford and Avery Point have been scheduled for December 11, 15 and 21st, respectively. The other campuses will hold theirs in January and those dates will be forthcoming. b. Arbitration Request – There was a motion made by Pane and seconded by Best. Motion was carried with one abstention. c. Professional Development Funds – There was some discussion on the current policies including the fact that members are still unaware of changes which have been made more than a year ago. d. AFTCT Delegate Assembly – Meeting on Dec. 10, 2015 5 pm in Rocky Hill e. CT Supreme Court Decision affecting University Professional Staff Release of Records – Through FOIA members’ records of misconduct can be released to the public. 5. Old Business a. UCPEA Agency Fee Update – Down to 103. b. Snow Removal – Talks still in progress. 6. Reports a. President’s Report – No report b. Staff Reports i. Elizabeth Sullivan – Negotiation updates ii. Lindsay Jenkelunas – Another staffing analysis is being conducted in the School of Nursing.
