2015 5th/6th Grade Midcoast Youth Soccer League Rules 1. Game - (4) 15 minute quarters. 5 minute break in between quarters (Including Playoffs). 2. Tie breaker will be ONE (5) minute sudden death period. If still tied, game ends. PLAYOFFS - (2) 5 minute periods may be used then PK's. 1st Round - 5 players, 2nd Round - 5 DIFFERENT players - 3rd and up - any player. 3. Ball Size: 5 4. Field Size: Recommended 40 x 80 yds. 8'x24' net 5. Minimum of 11 players on the Roster 6. Standard 11 on 11 games 7. Must have at least 8 players to start a game. Other team will match the number of players. Play 8 on 8, 9 on 9 etc... 8. Mouth guards and shin guards are required. Cleats are recommended 9. No slide tackles allowed. 1st offense is team warning, 2nd offense is yellow card, 3rd offense is red card. 10. No jewelry allowed. 11. Coach's SHALL make every effort NOT to run up the score. 12. This is a 5th and 6th grade league but it is up to individual recreation departments to put a 4th grader on the team 13. Coaches strongly encouraged to maximize playing time opportunites for ALL players. 14. All team members must be in the same color shirt and the shirt must be numbered. Goalies shall have contrasting jersey 15. The fee to join the league will be determined by total cost shared between all teams. 16. Coaches are responsible for rescheduling makeup games. 17. Home team is responsible for providing (2) referees. 18. Officials will be provided for the playoffs. 19. Every team is guaranteed at least (1) playoff game. 20. Rosters will freeze on September 26th. 21. The tournament is single elimination 22. Tournament seeding is based on point system - 2 points for win, 1 point for tie, 0 points for loss. Ties solved by head to head, then coin flip. 23. OFFSIDES - Any offensive player between the goal and last defender when the ball is played past the last defender will be called offsides
