SUBJECT: AMENDMENT NO 02, DATED: SEPTEMBER 03, 2014 TO REQUEST FOR PROPSALS (RFP) IRG/PDP/RA-LAN/MEPCO/2014/172 FOR THE TURNKEY PROPSALS TO DEVELOP AND DEPLOY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) INFRASTRUCTURE AT REMOTE SITES OF MULTAN CIRCLE OF MULTAN ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY (MEPCO) All prospective bidders, The purpose of this Amendment No. 02 TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) NO: IRG/PDP/RA-LAN/MEMPCO//2014/172 for the Turnkey proposals to develop and deploy Information Technology (IT) infrastructure at remote sites of Multan Circle that will provide a platform to access application software and data bases for Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) 1) to answer the questions submitted by the bidders. Accordingly the RFP is amended as follows:1.

Is it mandatory to provide Layer 3 features in access switches?

It is not mandatory. Please quote access switches without layer 3 features.

What is the purpose of 10G uplink ports in access switches as these are remote sites and no uplink device is supporting 10G (Router or firewall or core switch).

Please drop 10G uplink ports from all access switches. However the switches should have the feature/ports to support uplink modules.

Number of LAN nodes mentioned on page 20 (it seems that there is some calculation error in two ports populated face plates) kindly clarify total number of nodes What is the WAN connectivity design of these remote sites (Internet at each site or VPN with Hub ) kindly also share available bandwidth at each remote site.

Calculation is correct. We need mix a of single and dual face plates.

All remote sites will be connected to the main location (Data Center) Hub & Spoke over Layer 3 MPLS. It is estimated that at least 1Mbps will be available at each remote location and 10Mbps at Data Center (MEPCO). Please see Annex – I for complete details.

UPS quantity distribution and specifications with backup time A total of 24 UPS are required (650VA or 1KVA). Please see page # requirement not mentioned in RFP. 37 – item # 7 in RFP. Annex-I provides the breakup between the two categories of UPSs Do we need to propose the SFPs for 10G or 1G with switches or not. Please quote for both options. However we do not require 10G presently.

Item No. 3 in Attachment – I requires four functionalities in a single Please quote separate devices if not available in one. device (Router, Switch, Firewall, Wireless AP), such devices are not generally available. Kindly suggest if we can quote separate devices for each required functionality.

Please confirm if you need 10GbE uplinks on access switches, as per Please refer to our answer at serial # 2. our understanding access switch will be connected to router which doesn’t support 10G uplink, cost can be reduced if uplinks in access switches are of 1G on UTP.

Item No. 4 in Attachment – I requires a router cum firewall device, Our preference is to have router cum firewall appliance. However, can we quote separate router and firewall in this case? quote both options separately.

As per survey completed by our technical team in MEPCO Multan remote offices against RFP#172, we request you to please add complete attached passive equipment in the RFP.
