Overall Responsibility This individual builds, oversees, and updates systems, processes, and teams that help individuals at Mercy Vineyard connect to community and the vision of the church. This individual works with staff and leaders to build a culture of connection in every part of church life, along with practical opportunities through classes, events, and weekend services. An integral role to connection is through small groups where discipleship, care, and community are formed. The Community Life Pastor will support, analyze, and execute change within the small group system and encourage the growth of small groups through more leaders, more attenders, resources, and care.

Key Areas of Responsibility • Manage the welcome and integration process for newcomers • Oversee volunteer teams for weekend services – Hospitality Team, Welcome Table, and other teams as needed • Identify, train, and work with ministry leaders to oversee the different teams, classes, and processes related to connecting individuals at all connection points at Mercy • Oversee the membership process • Recruit and train new Small Group Leaders • Continue to meet and support Small Group Leaders • Support Small Group Coaches as the needs arise • Provide resources and trainings for small groups and leaders • Develop and oversee a small group member recruitment process • Work with Communications Lead to visually communicate small groups at Mercy • Work with the Pastoral Staff to integrate small groups into every aspect of church mission • Pastoral meetings with members and guests to our ofPice

Qualifications • Innate ability to connect with others
• Love for differences in people with all types of histories, backgrounds, styles, etc. • Resiliency and the ability to adapt and lead change • Excellent communication skills, speciPically in areas of engagement and inspiration • Proven ability leading diverse groups of people to achieve a common goal • Experience managing multiple projects at once • Ability to communicate effectively through various channels • Ability to leverage appropriate resources to leaders • Skilled at developing, executing, and maintaining systems that are successful • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 year equivalent; or one to two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
