PROJECT OFFICER (ARCHITECTURAL) TWO YEAR TERM POSITION (with possibility of extension or permanent)

COMP - 17/316 Non-Affiliated Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Construction, the Projects Officer (Architectural) is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and executing architectural and structural drawings and specifications for the timely delivery of school projects, by tendering and contract administration of renovations, alterations and upgrading of Board facilities including portables; preparing and maintaining fire safety plans and asbestos management program; and performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. In accordance with Board policies and procedures, relevant regulations, and industry practices, the Project Officer is responsible for design and development of working drawings and construction documents, contract administration, providing direction to professional consultants, tendering, construction supervision of contracts, and monitoring work in progress, for a range of in-house school facility renewal and major maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have 3 year Community College diploma in architectural technology or a related field, or a degree in architecture, 7 years of related experience, excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills; and proven demonstrable experience in successful project management from initiation to contract document development to administration and completion. Use of AutoCAD is required, as is a valid driver’s licence and use of a car. This is a term position with an annual salary range of $79,080 – 100,757. A partial comprehensive employee benefits package is also provided. The effective date is approximately November 6, 2017.
