The Khon Kaen University Center for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM) is recruiting for highly qualified and motivated persons to work on the USAID-funded Civil Society Partnerships Project. The Project goal is to develop the capacity and networks among CSOs in the Lower Mekong Sub-region to increase their effectiveness in mobilizing their constituents to improve local governance. The Project framework is built upon the belief that professionally managed CSOs that are linked with and learning from their peers throughout the region will be more effective in mobilizing their constituents to influence and oversee local government action. The specific objectives and associated activities of the project are: A. Strengthen the professionalism of CSOs to carryout oversight responsibilities • Strengthen administration and management skills of current CSO leaders through the development and delivery of practitioner training courses in Thailand and the region; • Build management skills of future CSO leaders through the design and delivery of academic courses at Khon Kaen University; and • Strengthen organizational capacity and expertise of CSOs. B. Expand platforms for CSOs to engage each other and policy makers on issues related to strategy, advocacy and operations. • Facilitate innovation, public learning and dialogue on key issues of concern to CSOs across the region; • Action research on important issues facing CSOs with aim to support the design of creative and innovative tools and processes that make CSOs more effective in their work; and • Build institutional networks and coalitions among academic experts and practitioners. In order to implement the project smoothly, CSNM is looking for skilled, dynamic and self-motivated persons for the following. Program Manager - CSO Platform Development – lead the design and implementation of research projects on issues of concern and priority for CSOs throughout the region and associated public learning and dialogue events. Develop periodic work plans and monitor their implementation. Ensure that research agenda and activities stimulate the creation of innovative tools using new technologies that help CSOs be more effective in their work. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant research organizations and experts working with new technologies in the region Qualifications: • Undergraduate and/or Master Degree in Social or Political Sciences or related field;

Minimum 5 years experience designing and conducting research on issues related to civil society and CSOs in the region; Understanding of uses of new technology, approaches, methods and tools among CSOs for management, advocacy and other tasks; Able to work in a multicultural setting and effectively lead a multicultural team of experts; Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills; and Fluent English writing and speaking skills.
