District 102 Newsletter Every day, throughout the Order, members of the Knights of Columbus are making a difference. Unfortunately, our good works are sometimes our best-kept kept secret. We want people throughout the countries where the Order is present, to know about the hard work that Knights and their families do do, to make their communities better places. To help in this effort please submit your activities to kofc.org/knightsinaction.
MEMBERSHIP BLITZ “One member per month” Worthy Grand Knights you have done exceedingly well in your membership recruitment. The March blitz will be your effort in this fraternal year to attain our State and Supreme recognition of your incredible efforts. Have your members order membership material now and during the October blitz. Let us make a resounding effort in expanding xpanding the order in honor of Fr. Michael J McGivney.

ACTIVITIES IN THE DISTRICT It is the responsibility of each Grand Knight to invite the District Deputy and the District Warden to council events. Also notify the Secretary of the Western Zone, Graham Nickalls, of council events such as: Annual Anniversary dances, Golf Tournaments,, picnics, etc. Once the event is finished, ed, supply the District Deputy with a short write up of the event.

Founder’s Day, March 29, 2014, is the 131st anniversary of the Order receiving its charter from the State of Connecticut. Work with your members in planning celebrations to mark this occasion. See the “For Officers” section of www.kofc.org for information.

ST. FRANCIS XAVIER COUNCIL 12067 Annual Communion Breakfast On Sunday, February 23 St. Francis Xavier Council 12067 held its annual Communion Breakfast for parishioners attending the 9 and 10.30 a.m. masses. The knights served breakfast to over 350 parishioners.

The brother knights (young, senior and new to the order) came at 6.30 a.m. to prepare the eggs, sausages & baked potatoes with bread accompanied with juices, tea and coffee. Champorado (chocolate porridge) was prepared epared and donated by PGK Fred and Diana Gamboa. The brother knights whilst preparing breakfast, also cheered on Team Canada to win the Hockey Gold medal at the Sochi Olympics. Our thanks to Brother Kelvin Netto, Chair and his team for doing a wonderful job j in making the Communion Breakfast a big success for the council.
