Purpose: Outline the authority delegated to the Licensing and Support Section Director and Healthcare Professions Profile Manager in carrying out the duties of the Director of the Division of Professions and Occupations (“Director”). Policy By this policy, the Director delegates the following statutory powers, duties, and functions to the Licensing and Support Section Director and Healthcare Professions Profile Manager: • • • • • • • • •

Initiate complaints on behalf of the Director Perform the initial review of complaints submitted to the Director Send letters of inquiry on behalf of the Director Grant or deny an extension of time to respond to a letter of inquiry or update a profile Issue Orders of Administrative Fine to individuals found to be in violation of the Michael Skolnik Medical Transparency Act (Act) pursuant to the fining matrix approved by the Director Refer individuals issued administrative fines to applicable state board or program Coordinate and conduct public rulemaking hearings Remove information from a profile’s narrative field that may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or found to not pertain to the individual’s professional practice Perform additional delegated duties as determined by the Director
