Box 157 Rocksprings, Texas 78880 Central Office Phone (830) 683-4137 Fax: (830) 683-4141 The Rocksprings Independent School District – (www.rockspringsisd.net/) – is in Class 2-A in football/1-A in all other UIL activities. The Rocksprings Independent School District is located in Edwards County, Texas. The Rocksprings Independent School District has strong academic programs and prides itself in the first-rate quality of its schools and staff. The district is a vital part of a dynamic and agricultural community. Parental support, dedicated staff members and top-quality instruction contribute to an excellent learning environment in the schools. Rocksprings ISD serves about 1,625.7 square miles and is located in the mainly in Edwards. The District has a combined (Pre-K-12) enrollment of about 280 students and a staff of approximately 50 fulltime and part-time employees. The District enjoys a below state average student to teacher ratio. The District consists of two campuses instructionally. The Rocksprings Elementary School consists of grades Pre-K – 6th grades, the Rocksprings Junior/High School is made up of grades 7-12. The campuses are upbeat and energetic with innovative programs. All campuses offer a safe learning environment with an emphasis on discipline. The Rocksprings ISD is proud of its excellent students, teachers, supportive parents and community. The Rocksprings ISD focuses on instruction and attention to individual student needs. Teachers and students set academic goals and strive for success every day. In high school, the district offers many curricular choices including dual-credit on-line through Southwest Texas Junior College. Technology is important in the Rocksprings ISD, offering full-time tech support and 4 computer labs district wide. There is an emphasis on intensive computer instruction for kindergarten through grade 12. It also has an excellent library, the Gilmer Memorial Library which is a joint venture between the city, county and school district. The District participates in UIL District 2-A in football and 1-A in all other UIL activities and offers a full range of extracurricular activities, including academic UIL competition, athletics, band and one-act play competition. Extracurricular activities are encouraged to round out the learning experience. The Rocksprings ISD, through its Board of Trustees, Administration, Parents, Students, Faculty and Staff, is dedicated to the education of every child in the community. The proposed start date for the new Superintendent is no later than January 4, 2018 but is negotiable and could be sooner.
1.) The First Round of Interviews will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 and Wednesday, September 13, 2017. 2.) The Second Round of Interviews will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. 3.) The “Lone Finalist” will be named on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. 4.) The new Rocksprings ISD Superintendent’s Contract will be negotiated on Thursday, October 12, 2017, along with a start date.

Experience required: 3-5 years as an administrator.
Compensation Package: The salary range will be $80,000.00 – $88,000.00 with final amount to be competitive and negotiable. The Rocksprings ISD Board Policy requires the Superintendent to live in the District and provides reasonable Superintendent housing.
