Brothers: I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Charlie Fallon for his service as Financial Secretary for the past 5 years. Charlie’s dedication and commitment to the council have been incredible and the energy and positivity he has brought will not be forgotten. Charlie has helped put the council in great shape financially, member wise and has also increased our council’s involvement in the 4th degree. I would like all brothers to keep him in their prayers as he continues his battle with cancer. We had a busy May in our council. On Saturday May 13 th, 8 Worthy Brothers served meals to over 175 clients at My Brothers Table in Lynn. This is the second time we have volunteered for this and I hope we will continue for years to come as it is truly a worthwhile experience. On Monday May 15th we welcomed our newest Brother Knight Dave Godwin at a first degree ceremony in Tewksbury. I have known Dave for about 10 years and he is a great addition to our council. Welcome Dave! On Tuesday May 23rd we held our Old Timer’s Night. This year we had two recipients, Anthony Marino- 50 years, (who at 94 years young was unfortunately not able to attend) and Nick Marrangoni, 25 years. Nick and his son Nicholas attended and even though Nick is a Steelers fan we were still able to honor him! Our Charity Drive has been changed to June 9th and 10th. Please see either the link in the bulletin our or our web page to sign up for our most important fund raiser. 50 % of our proceeds go to Reading Food Pantry and 50% to our council’s Charity Fund. We will hold council elections in June and I am asking that if any Brother is interested in one of our well-paying (really rewarding) executive positions please contact me at either
[email protected] or 617-9084730. Lastly I just wanted to thank all of you for your support over the past 2 years. It has been an honor to be Grand Knight of our council and a privilege to work with and get to know many of you. Vivat Jesus, Tom Cappuccio Grand Knight

A GOOD KNIGHT THOUGHT________________________________________________________________
Helping Others… One day the rowboat in which a man was riding sprung a leak. He watched his companions at the end with the hole bailing furiously and said, "I'm sure glad the hole isn't at my end." People who refuse to become involved with the problems of others are like that man. They conclude that they have no responsibility if the problem does not affect them directly. But as English Poet John Donne wrote: "Any man's death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind." Likewise, anyone's hunger or poverty or pain is also our concern because all people are part of humanity and our responsibility. We cannot solve the problem by ourselves; but our individual efforts do help. Physical hunger is only one need. Many people also have a spiritual hunger. We can feed that need by supporting missionaries around the world and by telling those with whom we work or play the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ—Yes EVANGELIZATION! Jesus sends us to respond to both physical and spiritual needs—it’s part of our duty as Good Knights! ________________________________________________________________DEACON NEIL June Birthdays: 6/01 Thomas P.
