Students are required to select and read at least three (3) books during the summer. Each student must fill in the information below for each book chosen. In addition, all students need to complete a writing assignment for ONE of the THREE books read. Students are required to choose THAT BOOK AND ONE ADDITIONAL ONE from the summer reading list. You are required to read a THIRD book, but it is not required that the third one come from the summer reading list. The THIRD book is FREE CHOICE. Enjoy!

Written Assignment While reading your three chosen titles, be looking for ‘golden lines.’ Golden lines are lines in a book that make an impression on you. Sometimes golden lines are lines that you choose because they: ● communicate the author’s message ● express the book’s theme ● create a vivid image in the reader’s mind ● sound beautiful ● help the reader connect to the story or a character Select ONE title that was offered on the Summer Reading List, among the THREE that you have listed above, and complete the following writing assignment for that book only: 1. 2. 3. 4.
