Fremont School District 79 Technology Systems Administrator / Network Operations & Project Management Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Director of Curriculum/Innovative Teaching, Learning & Technologies as well as the CSBO (Chief School Business Official), the Network Operations/Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of technology services for the District. This leader plans, sets up, installs, configures, maintains, operates, and repairs as well as provides administration of the District Network as well as security systems. The Technology Systems Administrator is a key technology leader within the learning organization as the technology and network system reliability is of critical importance to smooth operations. The Network Operations/Project Manager focuses on Managing Technology and Support Resources including: Information Technology management, Communications Systems management, and data management. Job Goal The Technology Systems Administrator/ Network Operations/Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of technological applications within the administrative and educational operations of the district, and for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a long range plan for the application, access, inventory, and deployment of technology in all district programs, both instructional and administrative. Manages network service providers and is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of technology services for the District. Technology ● Creates and implements a strategy for the deployment, maintenance and utilization of technology to support instructional and administrative tasks of the district. ● Oversees infrastructure ● Manages network service providers and is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of technology services for the District. ● The Network Operations/Project Manager will advise the Superintendent in the area of Managed IT ● Prioritize the work of the technology staff by developing a long term technology plan that is informed by the goals of the district and the needs of the staff, students, and community. ● Develop and maintain processes for technology procurement that include clearly defining requirements and evaluation, and maintain vendor relationships. ● Keep abreast of emerging and changing technology.
● Develop an understanding of district systems curriculum, instruction, assessment, copiers, fees, finance, facilities, phones, transportation, security, food service, database management in order to provide input as to how technology can support them. ● Implement and maintain a technology resource planning and budgeting process that is aligned with the District’s strategic plan in conjunction with the appropriate administrative staff as directed by the CSBO and Superintendent. ● Create and enforce technical standards for systems, applications, development, and software to ensure new and existing technology can be effectively supported and maintained. ● Research and pursue external funding opportunities and partnerships at the local, state, and national level in conjunction with appropriate administrative staff as directed by the Superintendent. ● Manage a disasterrecovery plan to ensure technology systems and operations continue in the event of an unplanned event or emergency. ● Undertake other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Manage the daytoday function of using technology within the district including, but not limited to: network, email, and various software and subscription systems. Support of MacIntosh OSX and OSX server and Windows desktop/server operating systems, iOS devices (iPads, iPods), including knowledge for MDMS and VMWare. Support and management of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Support for Google Apps for Education Support and management of District content filters Ability to deploy software using Network/Server based software installation for OSX, iOS Knowledge and support of workgroup manager, open and active directory. Installation of all new desktop computers, servers, and computer related equipment (printers, peripherals). Install and troubleshoot use of interactive teaching solutions: • Interactive white boards • Interactive projectors Repair and replace nonfunctioning computer equipment Create, maintain and update all required computer images. Maintain and upgrade networking equipment across the district as required. Install and support educational software and updates as necessary, maintaining software license compliance records. Support telephone system issues as necessary and facilitate repair requests. Maintain appropriate physical security and control on all computer assets across the district. Maintain inventory records of all equipment (purchases, placements, repairs, and final dispositions.) Maintain a working knowledge of all computer related equipment in order to facilitate

timely trouble shooting and repairs. Maintain a reasonable number of backup units in the event of damage or equipment failure. Manage the online work order “trouble ticket” system Provide education database support including student, administrative, human resource related, and financial systems support. Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the administrative and school district operations. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear, and taste, or smell. The employee frequently is required to use hands or handle or feel instructional and technological resources. The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing duties of this job, the employee works in a building setting with children, works in outdoor weather conditions, and is subject to noises associated with both an educational environment and other setting such as gymnasium, lunchroom, library, busses, traffic, construction sites, server rooms, and boiler rooms.

Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: • Graduation from accredited high school program (minimal requirement) • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in IT Infrastructure or comparable, acceptable experience • Applicable technology certification
