The School of Public Health (SPH) requires that all students completing an internship register their experience through SPH Career Connection.

Before You Register Secure your internship(s). Follow departmental procedures for approval of your internship and/or learning objectives. Review the Internship Planning Form to ensure you have all of the information required to register.

How to Register Select “WEBLOGIN” to use your Uniqname and UMICH password

Select the “Profile” tab > SPH Internship Registration to register your internship.

The first form will request information about your internship search (Part 1 of 2). Press "Submit Application" when completed or “Save as a Draft” to finish later.

On the next page, select "Add Internship" to enter your internship details.

The second form will collect details on your internship, preceptor and housing arrangements (Part 2 of 2). Review the “Required Documentation” section. Are the requirements applicable to your internship experience? Check with the Program Coordinator in your Department, if you’re not sure.  ● Travel Health Insurance: Required for all international internships. ● UM-Travel Registry: Required for all international internships. Recommended for internships outside of Michigan. ● Institutional Review Board (IRB): Required for research conducted with human subjects. ● PEERRS Certification: May be required depending on your role, the type of research, and funding sources for your internship. Press "Submit" when completed or “Save as a Draft” to finish later.
