InnovateEd LCAP Workshops – February 2016 You should have received an email regarding the February LCAP Workshop dates and times that looked like the item below: Dear colleagues, In response to the positive feedback we received from our November LCAP workshops, KCSOS is working in partnership with Innovate Ed., (Jay Westover) to offer additional trainings focused on systems alignment and leadership capacity as it relates to the implementation and monitoring of LCAPs. The workshops will include fewer districts so that each district can bring their extended cabinet (leadership team) to receive more individualized attention, and work with districts focusing on similar goals (or demographics). Your district is being invited to join the workshop that will occur on: (Specific invitation info below) We will be sending you some information once you register to help you identify an area of focus in your LCAP goals. The February workshop will emphasize district support structures, monitoring of lead metrics and engaging school principals with leading improvement efforts. Please come to the workshop prepared to work on the identified focus area, specific to your district. A follow-up workshop will be offered in May. The content of the May workshop will be focused on aligning district structures, school supports, and staff practices with student-centered outcomes. A backwards-mapping process will be used for systems alignment so that improvement efforts can be site-driven and district supported. The workshop series will culminate with a Summer Academy where Innovate Ed will facilitate district and school site leadership team members to develop site action plans and receive training on how to lead implementation as systems leaders. We hope that you are able to join us at this workshop. Please contact us if this date/time is unavailable for you; we will work with you to attempt to identify an alternative date/time that you may attend.

Questions for LCAP District Leadership Team Workshop: InnovateEd
Please find below questions to help you prepare for the February LCAP Workshop with Innovate Ed: Directions: By considering the questions below, please identify one focus area for your district that is based on District Vision, LCAP goals, and student performance. We encourage you to engage both district and site leadership in this discussion. Please bring any data considered to determine the focus area to the February workshop: 1. Based upon a review of student outcome data, what focus area has the largest gap between the district’s goal and the current status? What specific student skills and staff behaviors would help the district close that gap? 2. Based upon a review of disaggregated student outcome data, what focus area has the largest gap between outcomes for different subgroups and/or unduplicated pupils and the general population? What specific student skills and staff behaviors would help the district close that gap? 3. What is it you need out of this session for it to be most successful? Please send your responses to these questions to Corey Eby at
