Job Description: Mt. Hood Academy, Alpine Coaching Positions Beginning: Fall 2015 (Dates negotiable)
Mt. Hood Academy has alpine coaching positions for 2015-16. Several options are available:
1. A new coach, possibly just finishing a racing career, has the opportunity to step into a winter coaching position. 2. An experienced coach has the opportunity to move into a Head Coaching position. 3. Part-time coaching positions, with financial assistance for college study, are available.
Mt. Hood Academy trains athletes from ages 5-20. Beginning racers through F.I.S athletes are served by weekend programs through a full-time Academy program.
Mt. Hood Academy’s accredited school provides FIS, U16, and Advanced U14 athletes with a flexible school and training opportunities Wednesdays through Sundays. Training is conducted at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and Timberline ski areas, with full support for racing and race training. Coaching Duties: Responsibilities include coaching athletes, supporting learning opportunities for coaches, working with the Academy school program, and working with families.
Job Requirements: Excellent relationship skills with athletes, parents, coaches and volunteers, strong communication skills (verbal and written), strong teaching ability, clean background check, great customer service sense, good health. College degree preferred.
Expectations: A Head Coach is expected to attend to a budget, ensure safe training and race travel, be current in equipment understanding, assist in race production, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. Mt. Hood Academy is focused on Flexibility, Respect, and Educational Effectiveness •
