POLICY: 1. The Board recognizes the Ministry of Education requirement for the provision of safe, effective and efficient student transportation services through a consortia delivery model. 2. The Board recognizes the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, a consortium established jointly by the Ottawa Catholic School Board and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, as its agent for the provision of student transportation services. 3. The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority provides transportation services to Board pupils in accordance with policies established by the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority on behalf of the Board with appropriate consultation. PROCEDURES:
1. The Director of Education or designate will ensure that the structure of, and operating agreements with the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, satisfy the requirements of the Ministry of Education. 2. The General Manager of the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority will ensure that transportation services are provided to Board students in the most effective and efficient manner possible, in accordance with policies and procedures developed and approved by the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority.
