Dear Parents: I am so excited to say we are putting the final touches on our preparations for our students to come back and school to begin. I wanted to take a few minutes of your time and let you know I met with officers from the Spring ISD police department and spent many hours revising our arrival and dismissal procedures as well as traffic flow. All of this was done in order to keep our students, parents, and staff as safe as possible. I ask that you take the time to read through the changes in procedures and that you follow them. Safety is our first priority and having you work with us only increases the success of our safety plan. Morning Arrival: All vehicles will enter from the west side entrance “A” on Butte Creek Rd. using a RIGHT turn only coming through the oneway entrance A. Vehicles will travel along the front of the roundabout in front of the school back onto Butte Creek Rd. where only RIGHT turns will be made. If coming from the North side of Butte Creek Rd. vehicles will go West on Saddle Creek, turn left (South) on Sugar Pine, and left again onto Ash Meadow. At the intersection of Ash Meadow and Butte Creek, turn left. Ponderosa Elementary will be on your right and ONLY RIGHT TURNS INTO ENTRANCE A and B ARE PERMITTED. Afternoon Dismissal: All vehicles will enter from the west side entrance “B” on Butte Creek Rd. using a RIGHT turn only coming through the twoway entrance. Vehicles will be held at the corner of Entrance A until ALL BUSES have loaded and exited ENTRANCE B. Vehicles will then turn RIGHT ONLY into entrance B. Upon exiting the school grounds, only RIGHT TURNS will be permitted onto Butte Creek Rd. If coming from the North side of Butte Creek Rd. vehicles will go West on Saddle Creek, turn left (South) on Sugar Pine, and left again onto Ash Meadow. At the intersection of Ash Meadow and Butte Creek turn left. Ponderosa Elementary will be on your right and ONLY RIGHT TURNS INTO ENTRANCE B ARE PERMITTED. Safety First… Vehicles will NOT be permitted to drop students off at the curb on Butte Creek Rd., park on Butte Creek Rd, or turn down Hamlin Valley and park or drop off students. Vehicles are not permitted to turn LEFT at anytime into either entrance A or B of Ponderosa Elementary. North Side walkers will be delivered to the Park. No parents will be permitted to drive up and get a walker. If you are arriving in a car to get your child, your child is a car rider, pick them up in the car rider line. South Side walkers will be walked to Ponderosa Apartments and assisted in crossing Butte Creek Rd. All transportation changes must be made before 2:30 p.m. through fax or email.
