If students take three or more years of the same high school world language, they will complete the world language pathway. FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN TAKING AP HUMAN GEOGRAPHY AP Human Geography does not take the place of American Civics – a course required for graduation. Students have 3 options to fulfill the Civics requirement. Let us know which option you want: ____ I want to wait and take American Civics AFTER I complete the 9th grade. ____ I want to take American Civics AND AP Human Geography DURING the 9th grade. ____ I don’t want to take American Civics. I want to wait until 11th/12th grade to take AP Government/Politics (a substitute for American Civics). [You will still have the option to take American Civics 11th/12th grade if change your mind and you don’t want AP Gov’t/Politics.] II. Elective Selections for the 2017-2018 School Year Every student takes eight classes each semester (English, math, science, social studies, world language) PLUS themebased pathway electives, PE, or open electives (listed below).
