AUDITORS' REPORT The undersigned auditors for the town of Northfield, have this day completed their work and would respectfully report that they believe the foregoing to be a correct statement of the financial condition of the several departments of the town, the same having been obtained after a careful examination of the books , accounts and vouchers kept by the officers of the Town of Northfield F. M. BEARING, E. L. FIELD, W. H. HARDIN, Auditors. Dated at Northfield, Vt., February 13, 1918

Brown Public Library Report for 1917 Circulation of books. 12,330 Largest weekly circulation 297 Books added 367 Of these, 107 volumes were presented by the family of Col. I.ra L. Reeves and 17 were gifts from other sources'. The Reading Room has been supplied with periodicals by gifts from Mr. G. W. Brown and the Ladies' Reading Circle. The Library it used constantly by the young people of the town, The boys and girls of the High and Graded schools come in large numbers to the library and reading room and the teachers look to the library for material for their work in the class room. Early in the school year "Library Day" wae observed by Grade 6, 7 and 8. And all of the English classes of the H. S. were taken to the Library to listen to talkc on the use of the library, thus increasing the desired spirit of cooperation between the library and the publis schools. Brown Public Library

1918-WARNING The inhabitants of the town of Northfield, who are legal voters in Town Meetings, are hereby notified and warned to meet in Armory Hall, in the Village of Northfield, on Tuesday, March 5 , A. D. 1918, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, to hear and act on the following matters, to wit: Art.

1. To hear and act on the several reports of town officers.

Art. 2. Shall the selectmen be empowered and authorized to appoint one or two road commissioners? Art.

3. To elect all requisite town officers.

Art. 4. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a. sum of money for Brown Library, and if so, how much? Art. 5. To see if the town will vote to raise a sum of money for highway purposes in addition to the amount required by law to take advantage of the State Aid Law, and if so, how much? Art. 6. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for expenses of Memorial Day, and if so, how much Art. 7. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for the Northfield Cornet Band for public concerts, and if so, how much? Art. 8. To raise money to defray the current expenses of the town and pay its indebtedness; also for State, County, State School and State Highway Taxes. Art. 9. Shall Washington County establish a tuberculosis hospital and issue its bonds therefor in accordance with the provisions of an act of the General Assembly of 1917, entitled an Act to provide for the establishment of County Hospitals for tuberculosis? Art. 10. To see if the town will vote to authorize its selectmen to borrow money to defray the expenses of the town in anticipation of the revenue to be provided by taxation. Art. 11. To vote upon the. folio wing questions: Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquor? Shall license of the fifth class be granted in this town? Art. 12.
