FAFSA Flex Workshop Seniors -- haven’t started the FAFSA yet or got stuck half-way through? Come to the CCC this Thursday, December 7th during flex (2:15 to 3:30) -- w e will help you
through the process. Stop in to the CCC to get a list of documents to bring. If you arrive with the required info, it should take less than 30 minutes to fill out!
CHS Gives Back If all students give just $3 to CHS Gives Back, Jan Watt will dye her hair!! See other incentives in the front hall. All contributions will go toward helping our CHS families! So skip that latte or happy meal and give $3 in your English class toward CHS Gives Back and help your community!

Parking Lot Reminder Students, please remember the parking lots on 26th and Franklin and 28th & Powell are reserved for staff members only. Students are not allowed to park in the lots with
the exception of the two students whose families paid for the privilege. Thank you for your cooperation.
GET ON THE BUS! The Sno Bus to Mt. Hood Meadows is continuing for the 2017 season! Former Duniway Elementary and Cleveland High School parent Jay Mellies will be taking skiers and
snowboarders to Mt. Hood Meadows four Sundays:
January 7th, 14th, 21th and 28th.
The bus holds up to 50 students and we’ll leave at 6:30 am from Cleveland High School, returning to the same location around 5 pm. Great fun, good exercise, and excellent instruction if you are so inclined. You can enroll directly online by going to the following website: www.skihood.com/go. The GO code for my
program is 1163278. You will receive a confirmation email, directions for acquiring medical release forms, and rental forms if necessary, after enrolling. The registration deadline for the January 4-week session is

Study Abroad with CIEE! CIEE offers summer abroad, a semester/year abroad, or a gap year abroad programs for 175 study abroad programs in over 40 countries. T hey offer full scholarships and their tuition covers room and board, meals, health plan, and any other costs of

Scholarships Oregon Promise
Oregon Promise provides 2 years of community college tuition to eligible
students. Eligibility includes: starting any Oregon Community College in the fall of 2018, have an EFC of 18,000 or lower, have a 2.5 GPA. M ore details, including how to determine your EFC... The OSAC Scholarship Application is open!
The OSAC scholarship application gives you access to dozens of scholarships, and is required for some Cleveland based scholarships including the $2000 Commerce Alumni scholarships.
Early Bird Deadline is February 15th. If students submit early, they will be notified of errors and have time to make corrections. Error-free applications will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship. Final Deadline is March 1st. More deadlines here.
Portland Community College Future Connect Scholarship Application Is Open
For high school students who are the first in their family to attend college or low- income and
headed to Portland Community College, consider Future Connect! Future Connect is a
scholarship program which focuses on eliminating barriers to attending college, and provides on-going support throughout a student's time at PCC. Come to a meeting in the CCC at flex, Thursday, November 30th.
Portland Rose Festival Court Scholarship *new
For juniors and seniors in any field. Full tuition award. Applicant to have GPA of 3.0 or better and 20 hours minimum of community service. Along with completed application applicant
must attend at least one orientation session. Further details online. Deadline to apply 12/13. Pride Foundation Scholarships *new
Applicants must be residents of OR, WA, AK, ID and MT. Multiple Scholarships with awards up to $20,000. Applicant may be of any age and any sexual orientation and plan to pursue a
post-secondary education. Applicant judged on academic performance and commitment to social justice. Preference is given to students who are self-identified LGBTQ, members of
LGBTQ families, or straight allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBTQ community. 50 Scholarships available. Deadline to apply 1/12/18.

Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarship
Amounts ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 to at least one qualified high school senior per high school. Deadline to apply 12/13.
Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund
Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $20,000 awards. APIASF provides scholarships to underserved AAPI students. Deadline to apply 1/11/18. Mensa Scholarship Program * new
One essay makes you eligible for several opportunities. You don’t have to be a member to
qualify for their scholarships. Put in your zip code, read the FAQ which has tips on how the essay is evaluated. Deadline to apply 1/15/18. Dell Scholars Program *new
300 Awards of $20,000. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, have minimum 2.4 GPA, demonstrate financial need and have participated in a college readiness program. Details and apply online. Deadline to apply 1/15/18.
Portland Future First Citizen Award *new
$5,000 award. Applicant to have made an extraordinary commitment to improving the quality of life in his or her community. Application online. Deadline to apply 1/19/18. Greenfield Peace Writing Scholarship
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $1,000. Oregon 11th and 12th grade students are eligible to apply. Applicant must answer the following question: “What would it take to eliminate nuclear weapons in your lifetime?” Deadline 3/5/18.
