Grading System, Grading Pooiint Average & Class Rank For each class, a student earns percentage grades that are converted to a 4.0 scale as shown in the table below. The final grade de for a course is calculated by averaging the converted grades for each of the four marking periods. Beginning in the 2013-14 2013 school year, teachers had the option to include a "stand-alone" "stand midterm and final exam grade in the final grade calculation. The student's final 4.0 scale grade for each course is reflected on the student transcript. A (3.6-4.0) 98-100.0 4.0 96-97.9 3.9 94-95.9 3.8 92-93.9 3.7 90-91.9 3.6 F (0.0-0.9) 0-63.9 0.0

The grades for each course are averaged together to determine a student's unweighted GPA. To calculate the weighted GPA,, course grades in Honors (formerly called CPA courses) are multiplied by 1.1, and grades earned in AP (and other senior capstone courses) are multiplied by 1.2, prior to being averaged. A student's class rank is determined by his/her weighted GPA.
