FABRIZIO CAPOBIANCO Fabrizio Capobianco is Chairman and President of Funambol, Inc. since December 2, 2010. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Funambol, Inc. until December 2, 2010. Capobianco, a serial Entrepreneur and Veteran Executive at Reuters and Tibco, founded the first Italian Web company, Internet Graffiti. He also founded Stigma Online, developer of an information portal product with customers that included Kraft, Novartis, Italian Broadcasting Television and the Italian Stock Exchange. He joined by other technology heavyweights from IBM Venture Capital Group, Napster, Motorola and Hyperic, among others. He serves as a Director of Funambol, Inc. In addition to his monthly column for Wireless Magazine, he has taught courses on wireless and mBusiness strategies at the University of Pavia in Italy. Capobianco was recognized in 2007 as a top “40 under 40” leader by American Venture Magazine and by the readers of Mobile Village for being a consumer email visionary. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Sience from the University of Pavia in Italy. JEFF CLAVIER Jeff Clavier is the Founder and Managing Partner of SoftTech VC, one of the most active seed stage investors in Web 2.0 startups. Since 2004, Jeff has invested in more than 20 consumer Internet companies developing new concepts (such as social media) or revisiting “old” ideas with a new set of economics and technologies. In 2007, Jeff was recognized as one of the 13 “Web 2.0 King Makers” by Business 2.0, and is often noted for his investments in categories such as “passion-centric communities,” or for having already sold five of his companies in the past two years through successful M&As. Jeff’s 19 years of operational, entrepreneurial and venture capital experience enable him to add relevant perspective and value to the companies in which he invests. TIMOTHY C. DRAPER Timothy C. Draper is the Founder and a Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. His original suggestion to use “viral marketing” in web-based e-mail to geometrically spread an Internet product to its market was instrumental to the successes of Hotmail and YahooMail, and has been adopted as a standard marketing technique to hundreds of businesses. Mr. Draper launched the Draper Affiliate Network, an international network of early-stage venture capital funds with offices in over 30 cities around the globe. He founded or co-founded DFJ EPlanet (global), Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham (NYC), Zone Ventures (LA), Wasatch Ventures (Salt Lake City), , Draper Atlantic (Reston), Draper Triangle (Pittsburg), Timberline Ventures (Portland), Polaris Fund (Anchorage), DFJ Frontier (Sacramento and Santa Barbara), and DFJ Dragon (Shanghai).

MATTEO FABIANO Matteo Fabiano is an international executive with 12 years of management experience in Online Media, Video e Web Technology. Since 2005, Matteo has led marketing and operations at international software and internet startups. As COO at Your Truman Show, Inc., Matteo managed product marketing, planning and operations. Matteo held international service management roles at Hewlett-Packard, Procter & Gamble and IBM. Matteo is president of the board of BAIA, Business Association Italy America and makes time to volunteer his management skills to the Taproot Foundation, “the non-profit marketing agency”. Matteo has lived and worked in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and the USA and holds a Laurea degree (MS) in Engineering from Milan Politecnico and an MBA from IMD. MARCO MARINUCCI Marco Marinucci is the founder and executive director of the Mind the Bridge foundation. In his daily job, he is responsible for Google’s content partnerships activities in several countries. Marco’s 15+ years professional experience spans from a VoIP start up, to artificial intelligence research, to management of an international Ecommerce business. Prior to Google, he was the US general manager of Giunti Interactive Labs, the new media branch of one of the oldest publisher in the world, Giunti Editore. With a real international focus, he lived in Spain, France and Italy before he settled down in California. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughters. Marco holds a master in Engineering with specialization in Artificial Intelligence from the Universita’ di Genova (Italy) and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School, Madrid (Spain) where he’s also a lecturer on Entrepreneurship. FERNANDO NAPOLITANO Fernando Napolitano is a Booz & Company Senior Partner and Managing Director of Booz & Company Italia. He leads the organization and change practice in Italy and has specialized for fifteen years in the telecommunications, media, and aerospace industries. He leads the Firm’s European Advisory Board, an external consultative body composed by 10 leading European personalities. Prior to his consulting career, he held management positions at Procter & Gamble Italia marketing division and at Laben S.p.A. (Finmeccanica) Tethered Satellite, Commercial Department. Napolitano graduated with honors in economics from the University of Naples in Italy, followed by the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, a Master of Science Management (major in technology management) at Brooklyn Polytechnic University, New York, and a Diploma from the Chamber of Commerce of Paris, France.

ALBERTO ONETTI Alberto Onetti, Ph.D., is Professor of business administration and innovation management at the Department of Economics of the Insubria University. He is Director of the CrESIT (Research Center for Innovation and Life Science Management) and Pro-Rector for innovation and academic high-tech spin-offs. Since 2006 he is Visiting Professor at San Francisco State University. He is Chairman and Board Member of Mind the Bridge Foundation. He is a seasoned serial entrepreneur and acts as consultant for leading banking groups and multinational companies. He sits on the board of some private companies. Along the years, Alberto has developed in-depth expertise in the areas of corporate strategy and corporate finance. Alberto Onetti is author of an extensive list of conference contributions, books and articles. ROBERTA PROFETA Roberta Profeta is Innovation Manager for the Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo, since the Innovation Department was first created. Being Innovation Manager entails the fostering of research, development and innovation in the scientific and technological world. Prior to this, she was Policy Officer for the European Commission, with a focus on the ‘Risk Sharing Finance Facility’, a new financing instrument for Research, Development and Innovation launched by the EC and the European Investment Bank (EIB) under the 7th Framework Programme 2007 - 2013. Before her experience at the European Commission, she was Relationship Manager for North American Large Corporates within Banca Intesa. Having received a British education until her A-levels, she completed her University studies in Italy, with a Thesis on ‘Aids: Legal and Social Aspects – A Comparison Between Italy and England and Wales’. She is an alumna of the Young Leaders Programme. SCOTT SANDELL Scott Sandell joined NEA in 1996 and became a General Partner in 2000. Scott focuses on investments in information technology and alternative energy, and is responsible for NEA’s activities in China. Present board memberships include Bloom Energy, DreamFactory, Fusion-io, HelioVolt, Lianlian Pay, SolFocus, Spreadtrum Communications (NASDAQ: SPRD), SugarCRM, TabbedOut, Tableau Software, Telegent Systems, Teneros and Workday. FRANCESCO STARACE Francesco Starace is Chief Executive Officer of Enel Green Power. Between 1982 and 1987 he has worked in General Electric, living abroad for many years (United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bulgaria and Switzerland). Since 1987 to 2000 he worked in ABB and ALSTOM. In Enel he was Head of the Business Power Area within the Generation and Energy Management Division, and later Managing Director of the Market Division. Starace graduated in Nuclear Engineering from the Milano Politecnico. RICHARD H.K. VIETOR Professor Vietor is the Paul Whiton Cherington Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and Senior Associate Dean for the Asian Initiative. He teaches courses on the international political economy. Professor Vietor’s research on business and government policy has been published in numerous journals and books. For his courses in business-government relations and environmental management, Professor Vietor has published more than eighty case studies on energy policy, the regulation of natural gas, nuclear power and hazardous wastes; on strategy and deregulation in airlines, railroads, telecommunications, and financial services; and on the national development strategies of a dozen countries. He received a B.A. in economics from Union College (1967), an M.A. in history from Hofstra University (1971), and a Ph.D. in history from the University of Pittsburgh (1975).

SCIE COM NTIFIC MIT TEE ROBERTO CREA Dr. Crea is a scientist, investor and entrepreneur. As one of the scientific cofounders of Genetech, headed the DNA chemistry department that enabled Genentech to commercialize its first biotechnology products. He is also founder of Creative BioMolecules, Creagen, CreAgri, Bioren and ProtElix. Currently he is President and CEO of ProtElix and CreAgri. Roberto Crea received his Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from University of Pavia, Italy. He continued to play a pacesetting role as founder and CEO of Zilog, the first company solely dedicated to microprocessors, for the next five years. GIACOMO MARINI Giacomo Marini is founder and Managing Director at Noventi,an early-stage technology venture capital firm, based in Silicon Valley. In 1981, Marini co-founded Logitech with Daniel Borel and Pierluigi Zappacosta. He was with the company until 1992 as a director and member of the management team launching Logitech and driving it to become a world leader in computer-input devices. Prior to Logitech, he held technical and managerial positions with Olivetti and IBM. Marini is Chairman of Marini Investments, TES Automation and a director of Aurora Biofuels, Ecrio, Neato Robotics, Minerva Networks and PCTEL. Previously, he was Chairman of Teknema, an Internet appliances company and Silicon Valley Advisor for CDB Web Tech, a venture capital fund of funds. He holds a Laurea Degree, cum laude, in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, Italy.

ALBERTO SANGIOVANNI VINCENTELLI Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli is an academic researcher, teacher, entrepreneur, technical advisor and business man. He is a co-founder of the two largest EDA companies: Cadence Design Systems and Synopsys, Inc., a recipient of Phil Kaufman Award, 2001. He received his engineering degree (a “laurea”) summa cum laude from the Politecnico di Milano in 1971. The youngest person to become an associate professor there, in 1976 he quit for a position at the University of California at Berkeley, where he currently is a full Professor in the Electrical Engineering department.

PIERLUIGI ZAPPACOSTA Pierluigi Zappacosta is a Venture Partner with Noventi and Vice President of Business Development at Sierra Sciences. In 1981, he co-founded Logitech together with Daniel Borel and Giacomo Marini, which went on to become the world’s largest manufacturer of computer mice and other personal interface products. he served at Logitech for sixteen years, first as President and CEO and later as Vice-Chairman. Zappacosta is also Chairman of Digital Persona, Inc., a company dedicated to mass market solutions for identification based on biometrics. He also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Reason Foundation and of the Bruno Leoni Institute. He received his bachelor’s degree (laurea in Electrical Engineering) from the University of Rome in Italy, graduating cum laude. He earned his master’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford in 1978.

EVEN DETA T ILS JEN-HSUN HUANG ENGINEERING CENTER The Jen-Hsun Huang Engineering Center provides a vibrant hub for science and engineering activity on campus and promises to become a magnet for casual and formal interaction among students, faculty, and industry. The Huang Engineering Center includes an “engineering commons” extending from a rotunda that forms the focal point of the entire SEQ into the underground level that connects all four SEQ structures. The commons includes a new state-of-the-art library, machine shops, flexible classrooms and conference areas, and a café, all of which make the center a campus destination.
