Discussion and Action Items Jayme’s presentation on the Budget process is the only item: Budgeted Net Income (per this early draft) Comparison of primary amounts to business plan Major changes from the current year: - 42 more students (2 new classes - K-3 downsize) = 14% - State aid entitlement revenue up 43% - New positions and salary increases - No new facilities, utilize community rooms Major assumptions: - Non-statutory revenue sources + Capital campaign + After school + Lunch program - Health insurance up 20% - No common core funding or expenses - New class expenses centered on tech, additional tech spending beyond new classes - No increase to rent - Accounting increase 1/2 of ADA pace

Bay View Academy Unpaid Leave of Absence Policy for Study and Professional Development Leave of absence without pay may be granted to teachers by the Board upon recommendation of the Principal for the following reasons: a. Approved study b. Approved travel c. Approved teaching positions outside the United States or teaching of a specific nature within the United States In order to receive favorable consideration by the Principal and the Board, the following conditions must be met: a. Request for professional leave must be submitted in writing to the Principal and Board on or before April 1 of the school year previous to the school year for which the leave is requested. b. The applicant must have been performing his/her duties in a completely satisfactory manner prior to the request. c. A minimum of 2 years of service at BVA must be completed, prior to the request. A teacher returning to the school after a year of professional leave without pay will be granted an increment of salary under the following conditions: a. Approved study If a teacher has successfully completed the planned course of study. b. Teaching experience A teacher on approved leave without pay who has taught in a foreign country or in a school within the United states may be granted an increment increase on the salary schedule upon return to duty following the year of leave after such experience has been completed. The number of teachers taking professional leave shall not exceed two teachers in during any school year. BVA shall place a returning teacher in a position for which they are qualified and endorsed upon their return to the school. The grade level assignment will not be guaranteed to be the same as the teacher’s original assignment.
