Meeting Minutes Wednesday, July 26, 2017 BVA, Upper Campus., 190 Seeno Street, Monterey

Call to Order, Roll Call 5:38pm Board Members Kelly San Filippo (KSF) - Present Sheri Shaw (SS) – Present Trishia Jimenez (TJ) – Present Irene Miller (IM) - Absent Other Attendees: Tonya Hufford (TH), Chrissy Torres (CT), Sarah Angalet (SA) Approval of Meeting Minutes: TH motioned to approve the May minutes; SS seconded. Passed. Consent Items: REPORTS: Treasurer’s Report – CT presented the report; after speaking with Karina, decided to put Kona Ice Truck money into the ’17-’18 budget and report. CT will email KSF a final report spreadsheet. Treasurer report will be broken down by allocations to see what was made and spent. On 7/7/17, bank balance was $56,866.69, expect to spend about $45,000.00. 20% reserve kept in fund. Discussion of how much to write a check for to BVA for General Fund was discussed, confusion about numbers, and check for $8935.31 was written and given to SA to give to Karina. S asked if all field trips had been paid for – yes. Discussion of CVO budget, see notes from above. Motion to approve the Treasurer report: TH motioned, SS seconded. Passed. Principal Report: None to Report, SA sitting in on meeting on behalf of Karina. Board of Director’s Report – TJ noted that the new mission and vision statements approved after revision, and “Bay View Way” was added. Board of Directors is providing lunch to faculty and staff at the Fields’ home. Also, TJ noted that it was approved to admit teacher/staff child even if class is full, as an incentive to attract new hires. Open Floor: No items. Discussion and Action Items: Transition of Board: KSF asked about the process to contact the bank to add new signers. Will call bank to find out process; noted that in previous years a letter on school letterhead and minutes showing approval of new board is needed. Decided that in addition to KSF and IM as signers, that a third school employee should be added. KSF will talk to Karina about who to add. reviewed how the morning will go; for all new incoming students’ families/parents. At the Lower Campus MUR. Review of August Calendar Events: KSF reviewed each event. Noted that Book Fair would be in Lower Library/Office; Christine McGee is the parent contact; IM should be present last day of sale/when money is processed. Back-to-School Potluck: suggested that CVO uses the new SnoCone machine and make popcorn; KSF will look at notes from last year. Kona Ice Truck Debrief: $352 was made on fundraiser event; Kona Ice Truck company wants to plan more events with BVA. 1st Day of School Breakfast: KSF and SS will take care of breakfast: KSF at Lower and SS at Upper. Will shop separately at Costco. Set up by 7:15am.

October 2nd- 6th NO SCHOOL – Fall Break! 10th CVO Meeting (Lower Campus) 20th General Store (1st & 5th Grades) 27th Spooky Spaghetti Family Night November TBD-The Great Penny Race (8th Grade) 10th NO SCHOOL – Veterans’ Day! 14th CVO Meeting (Upper Campus) 20th - 24th NO SCHOOL - Thanksgiving Break December 2nd Holiday Craft Fair 12th CVO Meeting (Lower Campus) 18th – 31st NO SCHOOL – Winter Break!

*CVO is Responsible for adding/changing CVO events. Please check BVA website calendar often for updates relating to other committee meetings & events
