Information and Update Farewell from DHSEM Emergency Management Director Dana Reynolds and Acting Director Information Emergency Management Director Dana Reynolds is leaving DHSEM today, May 31, 2016. Below is a letter from Dana to our DHSEM stakeholders. Division Director Kevin Klein has appointed Marilyn Gally as the Acting Director of the Office of Emergency Management. “I have resigned my position as Director of Emergency Management, effective May 31, 2016, to pursue other interests and reclaim some lost time with my two sons this summer. My tenure in DHSEM has been the most fulfilling of my

professional career and this decision did not come lightly. I have had the good fortune to serve alongside so many exceptional men and women committed to serving the people of Colorado, and I am humbled by your many sacrifices and efforts to serve your communities. I also want to thank everyone for your camaraderie, support and for welcoming me into your local jurisdictions. While my tenure in OEM was somewhat limited, my respect for the profession has grown exponentially. I apologize for any inconvenience my sudden departure may cause as there was much unfinished business. I hope to cross paths with each of you sometime in the future. If you would like to remain in touch, I may be reached at [email protected] or (720) 481-0960.”

Kudos and Job Well Done •

A note of thanks to all supporting the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) during the North Central Regional Wildfire Exercise from Cory Stark, DHSEM North Central Regional Field Manager, “I am writing to extend a personal Thank You! for the effort you placed in participation with the Full Scale Exercise May 19-21, 2016 in the North Central All Hazards Region. I certainly understand that it was not easy to fulfill this request with all of the existing priorities that each carry in your respective roles. This said, the effort is not overlooked and very much appreciated by myself, the field services team, our local government partners who participated, and the regional staff who worked hard to ensure a delivery of the content…….please extend the gratitude to our partners outside the division who fill roles in the SEOC as Emergency Coordinators for their time and commitment to this regional effort in the NCR as well.” Congratulations to Jeff Babcock on his retirement from the San Luis Valley Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Council (RETAC). Babcock has
