Weekend Fixtures Senior and Inter hurlers play on Saturday at 5.30pm. A win for the Seniors against Parnells in Mobhi Road would see them clinch the league so the lads are looking for big home crowd support. Inters host Round Towers Clondalkin in Collinstown. Busy Championship day on Sunday at 11am. Both Senior 1 and 3 Camogie teams are away, Senior 1’s play Ballyboden and Senior 3’s play Crumlin. All three Minor football teams in action, A’s away to Crokes, B’s away to St Pats Palmerstown and C’s host Ballyboden in Mobhi Road. Later at 3pm both Junior hurling teams play in league, A’s play Erin Go Brágh in Mobhi Road and B’s are away to St Finians. Na Fianna Nuacht Shout On The Jackies on Sunday Best of luck to Lucy Collins and Dublin Senior Ladies in Sunday’s All-Ireland final against Cork. The Jackies are looking for big support on the day and a number of Na Fianna teams are making the short trip down to Croker to roar on the Jackies. And if you were looking for another reason to head to Croker on Sunday, a group from our 2006 Girls have been picked to play in the exhibition games at half time at one of the Ladies Football Finals. Over fifty six clubs entered the competition to get to play and the Na Fianna team was one of the six selected and will be the only Dublin team on the day. The 2006 Girls will also have a large group of players and parents going to the game on Sunday to cheers on the Dubs, Come on you Girls in Blue!!

Na Fianna AGM A reminder that the Na Fianna AGM takes place next Thursday 1st October at 9pm in club. All fully paid up members will have received notification. The AGM is your chance to hear what’s going on in the Club and an opportunity to have your say.

Na Fianna’s Men In Black Croke Park wasn’t the only venue with Na Fianna male representation last weekend. Congrats to Na Fianna’s John Higgins who referred last Saturday’s Junior A Football Final in Parnell Park between Round Towers Lusk and Raheny. A great honour for John and the club. The same final last year was referred by another Na Fianna man, Finbar Gaffney.

Na Fianna Nuacht Dublin’s Minor Camogie Success

Congrats to Dublin Minor B Camogie team on last Sunday’s Leinster Shield Final win over Carlow with a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-06. Representing Na Fianna were Ciara Tierney, Caoimhe o Gorman, Aoife Nic Con Iomaire, and Kayleigh Coulaghan, pictured above.

Need For Vigilance With Winter schedules nearly on us and shorter evenings on the way, all teams, adult and juvenile, are reminded of the need to be extra vigilant at all Club venues for matches or training. Unattended parked cars offer a source of curiosity for would be thieves and all Club members are advised to be alert to this fact. In the past, more vigilant teams have successfully overcome this menace by nominating a non-playing individual, parents etc to keep a watching eye on cars during the course of matches or training. Obviously, personal belongings, laptops, mobile phones etc. should never be left on view in parked cars at any stage, anywhere.

Nursery Notes Thanks to the Senior Hurlers for attending the Nursery to show off their skills last Saturday and take on the Nursery 15 in a challenge match. We reckon it prepared them well for their match against Parnells at 5:30pm this Saturday. Don’t forget to bring down your hurley for the Monster Puc Around during half time. On Saturday 26th, Na Fianna 2008 Boys will take to the pitch against O’Dwyers / St. Maurs / Skerries Harps in a challenge match on the back pitch in Mobhí road at 10:00. As parking is limited please try and leave the car behind. Scoil Chaitrona have requested that the grass margin on the school avenue should not be used for car parking. Members are asked to refrain from parking here and to respect the special relationship that co-exists between Na Fianna and Scoil Chaitriona.

Na Fianna Nuacht Scoil Chaitríona Football Blitz Scoil Chaitríona are organising a seven aside football blitz for boys and girls from the local All-Irish primary schools next Wednesday in Na Fianna. They are expecting 22 teams and a total of 300 children on the day. It will be run by the staff and the 5th year and 4th year students. Special guests on the day will include Ciarán Kilkenny and possibly another one or two. The idea is to have a fun day of activity all trí Gaeilge.

RTE sports commentator and larger than life personality Marty Morrissey, always game for a laugh, took time to pose in a photo with Na Fianna’s U-14’s Adam Moran and Senan Hession at last Monday night’s Dublin Homecoming in O’Connell Street. Marty had previously posed with the same two lads at the 2011 Homecoming in Merion Square and the differences are truly startling!
