Final Words – I thought we had a great year in 2010-11. I was persistent about getting student input about what they liked and what they didn’t. Almost 100 % of the students I talked to said they were having a great time at our honor festival. Some were actually gushing with enthusiasm. I received a thank you e-mail from a young lady in the honor band before I got home from the event. I was very impressed with the way many people pitched in and helped also. I encourage all of you here tonight to involve yourself in our events as helpers as well as nominating your kids. Although it seems like a lot of work, I always leave these events with more energy than I had going in. Once again let’s stay student-focused so we can provide our students with the widest range of musical activities. Brad Sherman – President, OMEA District 12
