Tena koutou katoa, Talofa lava, Hello ATHLETICS SPORTS Well the weather looked dodgy but we went ahead anyway. What a great day. This was my first EBIS Athletics Day and the first time I had been at Newtown Park since I was at College! It was a neat day. The students participated in their chosen events and the teams all had their banners flying. Students and staff were dressed in team colour and they all participated in sharing tier team chants during the finals for the track took place. Thanks to all the parents who came along to watch – it was lovely to talk to you and having you there sharing the day with us.
Nga mihi nui, Tofa, Kind regards Lou Bray-Burns Principal

COMMUNITY NOTICES NB Evans Bay Intermediate School takes no responsibility for any notices which appear under this section MENTORS FOR FATHERLESS BOYS Our service matches rigorously-screened, male mentors with fatherless boys aged 7-14. We have a number of excellent men ready to mentor right now, for boys at EBIS who would benefit from having a good man in their life. Feedback from mothers involved in the programme is exceptionally positive, including that boys’ selfesteem increases markedly when they have a Big Buddy; they do better at school, and are less inclined to crime and abuse. The statistics on positive mentoring are compelling! Big Buddy Mentoring Trust is a secular organisation and registered Charitable Trust, with branches in Wellington and Auckland. We have successfully matched over 600 boys and mentors since 1997. For more information on the programme please go to www.bigbuddy.org.nz HATAITAI NEIGHBOURS' DAY - Meet your friends and neighbours at Hataitai Bowling Club on Sunday 20 March from 2 'til 5 for a Sports Extravaganza - try bowls and petanque, there'll be outdoor games for kids, a lolly scramble and free BBQ, a fun event.
