The Granite State College (GSC) School of Education has developed vertically aligned pivotal standards for each strand of coursework offered in General-Special Education; Mathematics; Early Childhood; Reading/Writing Teacher; and Advanced Endorsements. Pivotal standards (PSs) represent capacities that are fundamental to effective educator practice. As such, each teacher candidate must demonstrate proficiency in all pivotal standards within a course before receiving a grade ~ and for all courses in their program in order to receive a degree or certification at the completion of their program of studies. GSC believes PSs are central to the future of effective educational opportunities for youth. The items below articulate the PSs and the academic and observational evidence required for this course.
