Brethren, I would like to thank all who came out and supported the lodge in welcoming the ACCA Temple’s Potentate for 2017 Thornton L. Holt, Jr. – “Singing the Praises of the Shriners Hospitals”. The Illustrious Sir gave a wonderful talk, where he reminded us of the great amount of charity the Shriners provide, and the special lives that they touch every day. The Potentate made a point to put an extra emphasis on what binds us, the fact that we are all Master Masons. No matter what path we travel in masonry, it all starts with the Blue Lodge. The 172nd Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Most Worshipful Vernon Stuart Cook was in attendance as well to hear the Potentate’s talk. When a Grand Master takes time out of his busy schedule to make an unofficial visit just to listen to a talk, you know it is a good one. The Rainbow Girls prepare a delicious meal and your line officers did an excellent job with the ritual. Glen Allen is truly blessed to have such a strong and dedicated line of Officers. Our November Stated is Past Master’s night; Worshipful Johnny Butler will be presiding in the East. Worshipful Johnny is home from the hospital and is doing well; he also states that the doctors have him on two different types of blood thinner, so I know he will be very comfortable in the hot seat. He is excited to conduct the lodges business in November. Worshipful Johnny has given few details about his agenda but says he has all his officers lined up and the menu planned. I’m looking forward to seeing him and his officers bring the past back to life for a night, Please brethren, come out and support your Past Master’s on their special night, it is always great fun. As always, brethren please remember the sick and distressed, and keep their families in your thoughts and prayers. If you know of a Brother that could use a visit or call, please let us know. Fraternally, Bro. Paul M. Moss III - WM

Hello again brethren, December is right around the corner, and I am more than excited for the upcoming Masonic year at Glen Allen #131! Our officers and myself have a lot of fun and educational events and speakers planned, and I can't wait to share them all with you! As I've mentioned before, there will be a motorcycle show on May 5th, with activities for the kids, food, music, and more. Immediately following the festivities, all bikers will ride to ACCA for their Cinco de Mayo event they are holding that day. So whether you ride a motorcycle, or just enjoy having a good time, please be sure to come out that day for an unforgettable experience! Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work, and I plan on doing my best to provide for our lodge and our gentle craft.

Brethren, Please keep our sick and distressed in your thoughts and prayers: W. Charlie Jones still has significant back pain, but continues to recover. Surgery was planned for Wednesday October 11, 2017. W. Charlie's surgery is complete and while he was not doing well immediately after surgery, on October 16, he was recovering in the ICU and was doing better. Today he was sitting up in the chair and began eating on his own. Great news. Bro. Bill Griffin has been going to Sheltering Arms for rehabilitation. He continues to be progressing well. Bro. Marc Anthony Richardson has been dealing with an illness, but seems to be on the mend. On a good note, he has welcomed a new addition to his family. Congratulations everyone! W. Jim Counts has suffered from an upper respiratory infection and pneumonia. He is home recovering. W. John Butler returned home from McGuire's VA Hospital after dealing with heart condition issues. Bro. Colin Harris is dealing with issues related to a leaking heart valve. Luckily, it as found in a work stress test and they're working on a solution. Bro. Ralph Spring is doing alright after checking on him. He still has serious health issues, but keeps up with us through email/internet and wishes he could attend Lodge. MAHOVA - After speaking with Bro. Art Gregory, he reported everyone seems to be doing well. Bro. Ernest Kersey's wife, Martha, is now in the Care Unit and Tommy Lewis is doing good and getting better. If you get a chance, please take a few minutes this week and give these brethren a call to let them know you are thinking and praying for their or their

My Beloved Brethren, Behold how swiftly the particles in an hour glass move from before us to behind us. It has been a busy year filled with fellowship, learning a new job, paperwork, great meals, fellowship and paperwork (I know I said that already). It has truly been my pleasure serving you. If you’ll have me, I’d like to continue in the good work of the Lodge. We have a strong Lodge; we could improve on participation of our own activities and in things going on in the District. Please pay your dues before January 1.
