Section 1: Introduction and Overview Gorman Learning Center (GLC) is a charter school that provides an alternative to traditional schools. It offers individualized student learning driven by interest, innovation and flexibility. GLC has resources centers in specific geographic areas, namely in Redlands, Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita. At the resource centers, K-12 students can take supplemental enrichment classes in the subject areas of math, English, science, music, art and electives. This RFP focuses on the Redlands Resource Center that services 2,500 students and houses the GLC administration office. The building located on 1826 Orange Tree Ln, Redlands CA 92374 was built in 1984 and was purchased by GLC in 2005. The two-story building covers a total gross area of approximately 24,000 square feet. With Prop 39 funding, GLC will undertake projects to improve/upgrade the energy efficiency of the Redlands Resource Center and reduce energy costs. Scope of Work: The Gorman Learning Center is requesting proposals for the retrofit of existing fixtures with Light Emitting Diode (LED) at the Redlands Resource Center. This involves the replacement of approximately 350 interior fixtures and 40 exterior fixtures (see Appendix A for a detailed list of existing fixtures). The RFP is being funded by the California Clean Energy Jobs Acts (Prop 39).   

All new and replacement materials for installation of new/upgraded lighting efforts, including all necessary accessory materials and permits; All labor associated with the lighting retrofit; Removal and disposal of all currently installed materials;

Proposals shall also include evidence of compliance with all State Labor and Building Code, prevailing wage requirements, and etc. The projected timeline and budget should allow for completion of all phases by the second half of August, 2017. Proposers’ Requirements Please include the following information in your proposal:  Brief description of your Firm and relevant experiences: proposer should demonstrate a history of successful past projects of a similar scope.  List of references: List of clients for which Proposer has performed services. List should include date(s) of installation, contact person, address, telephone number, and a summary of the work performed.  List of any claims and litigation history Proposers are welcome to submit any other details relevant to this project.

Insurance Requirements: The school will require that the selected Firm have insurance in effect at all times during the term of this agreement and that the Firm provide certificates of insurance. The applicable insurance requirements and limits will be established by the school during negotiations with the Firm.
