[Proposal] The 2nd International Conference on Biosciences 2017

Introduction International Conference in Biology (ICoBio) is a bienial scientific event organized by Department of Biology, Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia. This event is designed for international and national biologicalresearch scientists to gather and exchange knowledge as well as to strengthen research networks amongst biological scientists in a fruitful environment. Currently, Department of Biology of IPB is organizing “The 2nd International Conference on Biosciences (ICoBio) 2017” that will be held on 8-9 August 2017 at IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor. The first IcoBio event was organized successfully on August 2015. The current theme of the 2nd IcoBio is “from gene to ecosystems” which covers broad range of biological research. This particular theme may acommodate diverse biological-related researchers from various countries and scientific institutions to communicate their reserch and expertise during the event. To date, a remarkable broad range of scientific disciplines has been applied to uncover the genetic information, regulation, cellular function and its corresponding roles or bioprospecting in the ecosystems. As a result, better understanding regarding biological phenomena as well as their applications in agriculture, food safety and security, industrial, medical, and environmental conservation have emerged tremendously. It is worth noting that , the upcoming 2nd IcoBio event is genuinely highlight the importance aspect of basic and applied reserach on biosciences, as they are essential for sustainable living. Objectives 1. To gain insights on current trends in biology researches and teaching, such as the essential of interdisciplinary approaches in understanding biology and its applications. 2. To foster networking among biologists and relevant stakeholders to accelerate our effort in understanding biological phenomena and their applications for sustainable living Venue : 

Activities 1. International Conference on Biosciences Participants of International Conference on Biosciences (IcoBio) 2017 are expected 200 persons.

It is important to point out that in the 1st IcoBio, the organizing committee had successfully organized the event as more than 200 participants from several countries, including Japan,

In this conference we invite speakers from various countries as keynote speakers and invited speakers to share their experiences in the field of science. The speakers come from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, United State of America, Korea, and Indonesia have confirmed their attendance to the 2nd IcoBio event. 2. Excursion Three packages of excursion will be planned. The three place of destinations for this program are : Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta; Cultural tourism of Cinangneng Village and Sindangbarang Bogor; and Bogor Botanical Garden in Bogor. Participants who are

interested to go to one of these places can register to the committee at the same time as the conference registration. The excursion will be organized by selected committe member and will be done on the last day of the conference.
