MEDIA RELEASE April 8, 2014
Halton Hills wants to hear from you HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town has introduced an interactive and fresh communication channel to hear from our community. Using an online platform known as MindMixer – the Town has launched www.haltonhills.ca/letstalk. Through this site residents can provide feedback on Town initiatives, vote on different ideas and submit ideas and photos. Participation is easy. Residents simply register once and then they can begin providing feedback on posted topics or polls. “This is a convenient and easy way to share ideas and join the conversation on a variety of topics,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “Council values ongoing community input which is a sign of an engaged community. We look forward to receiving input on a variety of initiatives.” The goal of community engagement is to encourage greater participation from the community which ultimately leads to better decision-making. The first topics are asking for resident’ views on what they like about living in Halton Hills; and the other is a quest to find the most popular places in Town and to encourage people to share their photos of their favourites locations. Future polls will ask for input on park design, budget priorities, sustainability issues and much more.
