New vendor for 2016, lack of support has been the problem in the past. Natius said the new vendors are Cooks on Carrington, they have contracts in numerous schools and are an experienced group. Only 10 lunch orders on Monday is not a good start. School body needs to support it for the canteen to continue Parent volunteers are not required at the moment, they don't have in their other schools. They will see how things go, dependent on what the community wants and on use Sally Leonard is the new coordinator, thank you again to Cathy Birrell for her years of service. New focus for 2016 on social events for the year as well as cake stalls Still need volunteers for yr 4 and yr 6 Natius covered in the meeting earlier in the evening A reminder to be put in the newsletter about how to download the Skoolbag app, also a copy of instructions for downloading the app are in the handbook Communication to other parents about school matters need to go through Natius and the office Class parents will create a social class list 2016 parent handbook has been updated and will be uploaded to the website this week A few more volunteers needed, please email Maureen Susan and Danielle have a good bank of volunteers The school used to sort out the lost property pile at the end of the term Now Cheryl Daly will go through the pile everyday, return labelled things, unlabelled things are held for a week and then they are given to the uniform shop or into the bin Anita waiting on requotes for some of the equipment. It has been decided to install fitness stations on the top of the hill, suitable for all ages. Possibly the next holidays the work can begin. shortfall of costs Suggestion was made to look at cost saving of completing on whole project as opposed to stages. Natius acknowledged that it might be a bit cheaper, but thought it would be unlikely as we don't have access to the funds at one time. Major cost is the soft fall installation If people have suggestions email through to Liz or Mary-Anne It was suggested, if we are fundraising for playground equipment, we should tie in a social event with the fundraising Suggested for one event per term for the children, 1 or 2 events per year for the parents Anyone with ideas of topics for people to talk to parents please let us know topics or speakers as can tie these in with future P and F meetings Lara Laing asked if we could have someone to give advice to families about managing technology in the home, practical ideas for use/breaks/access/safety. Possibility of Rachael Delucyk or Constable Adrian Chalmers. Other topics suggested were children's anxiety, healthy eating Jo Davison thanked the school for the diversity available to the students - fitness, band, music, all of those extra curricular activities are fantastic. Thank you particularly to James Kennedy for all he does Enquiry about language classes, Natius replied she hasn't had anyone inquire about running classes at the moment. Facilities are heavily used by the extra curricular options as well as by GOSH. French had previously run in Ventnor house, but it is unclear at the moment as to whether they will operate in 2016. Strict guidelines about who can teach the classes with teachers requiring qualifications and insurances. Natius is however open if parents are keen for a particular language, she could find space Enquiry about the calendar, no calendar is not going to be created this year, information is in the newsletters and there is a calendar on the website
