In the academic year 2016/17 school expects to receive £9,140 The aim of the grant is to:  improve the quality and breadth of P. E and sport provision  increase participation in P.E and sporting activities  encourage children to develop healthy lifestyles  ensure sustainable improvements

The following plan outlines how we will use the additional funding to develop our provision and the opportunities available for all children in our school.

To use the P.E and Sport Funding to ensure that all pupils develop active and healthy lifestyles. Therefore promote a lifelong love of sport and physical exercise.

To provide a variety of clubs to encourage health and fitness and an enjoyment of sport and exercise. To review and increase, where required, the amount of physical activity undertaken during the school day and link this to the school’s healthy school agenda and PSHCE curriculum.

Organise out of school hours clubs for each year group run by specialised coaches/teachers e.g. dodgeball, Fencing, Dance Multi sports, Multi skills.

Introduce children to a wide range of sports e.g. Tag Rugby, handball, Kwik Cricket. Dodge ball Dance Go Noodle Quicksticks hockey Skipping School’ to Y4 and participate in local festival. A daily physical activity.

Increased number of children taking part in clubs. Enjoyment of children measured through pupil feedback. Children will have positive attitudes towards healthy life styles and sport. Increased levels of fitness Feedback from parents through Parent Focus Group and Parental Surveys

Sustainability: involvement of school staff and purchase or equipment will ensure that clubs and new P.E/ sports activities will be sustainable. New clubs and sporting events will be embedded into the school’s P.E/Sport calendar Involvement in School Games and North Tyneside competitions. Achievement of School Sports Mark .

Through feedback from sports coaches/teachers. Enjoyment of children measured through pupil feedback. Governor visits and reports to Governing Body.

To continue to develop an exciting and high quality P.E curriculum To make effective use of the outdoor environment for adventurous activities

Monitor delivery of P.E Curriculum and effectiveness of assessment procedures. Use Go Noodle to encourage good fitness levels. Monitor use of outdoor learning Continue to monitor and develop the OAA curriculum. Assess further training needs of staff.

P.E Co-ordinator monitor of planning/ lesson observations and through assessment data from teaching staff. Feedback from coaches.

To continue to offer a wide variety of inter-school and intra-school competition for all pupils

Active involvement on the North Tyneside programme of inter-school competition for all year groups.

Feedback from staff, parents, Governors Competition involvement and results.

Develop new competitions between the other first schools: Autumn 2016 -Tag Rugby Spring 2017- Fencing, Dodge Ball Summer 2017- Handball, Kwik cricket Summer 2017- Football League

To offer a variety of CPD opportunities for all staff

Buy into the North Tyneside Service Level Agreement for P.E Continuing Professional Development. Develop opportunities for training in outdoor learning and outdoor adventurous, Dance (LPD education),

Feedback from staff. Increase in knowledge, skill and confidence of staff. Value added to the curriculum Increase in pupil engagement and higher attainment.

Consult with staff to consider training needs.

Purchase of resources linked to OAA Purchase of equipment through Sainsbury’s Active Kids Scheme.

Sustainability: Annual spending identified with the school budget and buying into the SLA, including training and regular network meeting for teachers will ensure long term support and sustainability of these activities. Formal assessment procedures which are regularly monitored by the Senior Leadership Team will ensure high quality lessons are embedded throughout the school
