GREEN RIVER URA MAIN STREET AGENCY - GREEN RIVER ARTS COUNCIL CENTURYLINK BUILDING ART MURAL

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The Green River Mural Committee hereby requests proposals for design and installation services for a new art mural to be located at 55 W Flaming Gorge Way. Scope of Work: An artist, muralist, or team, is needed to develop and install an artistic mural on the entirety of the eastern wall of the CenturyLink building in downtown Green River, WY. This project will add a large and highly visible piece of art to downtown Green River, create excitement and beauty for the community, and enhance the experience of downtown for locals and visitors. The artwork must fit into the culture and history of Green River and Southwest Wyoming. Budget: Project budget will vary on a case-by-case basis and will be determined by considerations of size, location, materials, installation tools and equipment required, private or public ownership, and other project specific factors. A final budget must be approved by Green River URA Main Street Agency before the project can proceed. Artist Selection Process: The Green River Mural Committee will include Green River URA Main Street Agency, Green River Arts Council, and other key stakeholders dependent on this project. The Committee will consider all applications at one time, is not required to select from among submitted applications, and reserves the right to invite artists who do not apply. Input and feedback will be given in collaboration with the artists to determine the final design. Finalist Selection: The Green River Mural Committee will review all applications and select up to three finalist applicants. Each finalist applicant will be compensated $150 for concept and design development. Finalists will present their proposed designs, budget, and timeline to the Green River Mural Committee, with presentations to be scheduled for the week of April 30th. Presentations in person will be preferred, but other accommodations (such as video conference) will be accepted as required. The awarded finalist will be notified May 7th, 2018. Design Policies: Artists will retain the ownership of design ideas submitted with this application until the final selection has been made, and contract signed between the awarded finalist and the Green River URA Main Street Agency. At the time a contract is awarded, the ownership of the design and the artwork produced will become the property of the Green River URA Main Street Agency. General Review Criteria: Artists and artist teams will be reviewed and rated based on their submitted work samples from other completed projects. Review criteria will include but not be limited to: ● Aesthetic excellence of past projects ● Demonstrated site-specific designs ● Demonstrated project management (on time and on budget) and collaboration with other artists, design professionals, or community members ● Work products submitted for review must reflect materials and methods appropriate to creating visual murals in outdoor public spaces

Fabrication & Installation: Once the final design has been confirmed, the selected artist will enter into a contract with Green River URA Main Street Agency for the fabrication of the mural, painted on the building.
