Summary Statement: Please provide a brief description for how the analyzed data will impact your Inquiry and Action Planning process. The Sage Elementary SPP team compiled information from the following sources to complete the Comprehensive Needs Assessment: Spring 2016 Smarter Balanced assessment in Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science, Fall 2016 MAP assessment in Reading, Language, and Mathematics, and the most recent rating on the NSPF website. We analyzed our performance from previous years and compared it to the most current data. This helped us to quickly identify any area or criteria we may have had a lower score reported, enabling us to explore the potential causes of why that would have happened, to prepare for the Action Planning process. Next, results from the previous administration of Smarter Balanced assessments were considered. This data is disaggregated to the subject area and grade level first. From that point we broke it down further to examine each individual claim to determine which test area presented the biggest problems for our students, (questions students missed most frequently) in each subject and grade level area. Trends and/or patterns in this data help us to correlate it to Common Core standards our teachers use to guide instruction. This assisted us with evaluating the need to remediate or provide interventions to improve understanding of those specific standards. Data was also broken down to the student level to find students who are at the "Emergent" or "Approaches" levels to derive strategies for them that will improve their academic performance the following year. Finally, all achievement gaps are analyzed to ensure we are reaching all subgroup populations with our instruction. This will help us to create strategies to assist any of those groups that may be identified as underachieving. The final piece of data considered for our CNA was over-all attendance rates and our ADA. With the new NSPF, one of the 4 components is the ADA rate. Ours has stayed at 94% giving us 4 points on the scale used. We want to continue on our trend to ensure school is safe and important to all of our stakeholders to ensure that rate does not go down as the potential for losing points would exist. Page 2 of 18
