Year 1 and 2 Weekly 9th March 2015 Dear Parents and Caregivers Junior Splash: We are all looking forward to our Junior School Splash on Tuesday 10th of March from 1.30-2.30pm. The children will have a great afternoon doing various water activities and we will end with a bake sale. Please remember to put sunscreen on your child in the morning before they come to school to keep them safe. The children can also wear rash vests to keep them warm and safe too. Please send $1 if you wish your child to get something from the bake sale. We look forward to seeing you there. The Parenting Place Workshop: A special guest speaker, John Cowan, is coming on Tuesday 10th March 2015 from 7.00-8.30pm to speak with parents in the Howick Primary School Hall. There are childcare options available if you wish to come and be a part of this evening. Please contact the office for extra information. Thank you J Contact Details: We are sending your child’s student profile sheet home for you to check all your details, especially your email address, to ensure we have the correct information on record. Thank you J School Assembly: Whole School Assembly remains on Thursdays at 2.15pm, however this year it will only be held once a fortnight. Therefore there will be an assembly this week but not next week. It would be lovely to see you there if you are able to make it. Spelling: Thank you to all the parents who helped their children learn their spelling words last week. It was great to see the children happily writing their words in their notebooks. Parent, Child and Teacher Conferences: Please book your appointment time online as per the instructions in the email coming out today. If we do not have your email address a hard copy will be sent home instead in your child’s homework book. Homework Reading: Read your reader each night and your poem on Friday. Write all of these in your log. The logs need to be handed in every Friday for marking and so your child can get their next certificate. Spelling: Chn received their new list of 5 words to learn last Friday.
