Method of Entry Hotel Door was Kicked In.

Description/Suspect Information Victim stated that someone kicked in his door to his hotel room last night and stole his money and cellular phone while he was sleeping. Victim stated that he was very intoxicated last night and did hear the door get kicked in but did not wake up during the incident. Victim stated the door was locked with the night hasp while he was sleeping and that was damaged when he woke up. Victims Cell Phone & Cash was taken.

Home Invasion: Date/Time 07/16/2015 9:46pm

Method of Entry

Description/Suspect Information

Exterior Hall Door and several Interior Doors were all forced open.

Officers were dispatched to residence on a suspicious subject knocking at the door. Officers arrived on scene and discovered Reporting Party (R/P) ex-boyfriend at the apartment door. The ex-boyfriend was given a plastic bag with his belongings but he wasn’t satisfied with this. The ex-boyfriend wanted the keys and paperwork for a car that he had bought for R/P. Because the vehicle wasn’t in ex-boyfriends name Officers advised him he would have to have the title transferred into his name at the Secretary of State. Officers advised the subject he would have to leave the property and deal with the vehicle later. The subject was very upset with what the Officers told him and he got on the elevator and went down to the first floor. Officers went downstairs to make sure subject left the property but he couldn’t be located. Officers then received a radio broadcast that the subject was back at R/P’s apartment. Officers returned to the apartment and observed subject had forced entry into R/P’s apartment. The subject had forced entry into several interior doors of the apartment as well. The subject was taken into custody for Home Invasion.

Front door was forced open.

Victim stated she left her home at 12:00pm and she came home in the early morning hours at 2:19am. Victim noticed that someone had gone through her adult son’s room. There were drawers flipped over on the bed, and the entire room was ransacked. At this time victim doesn’t believe anything is missing from the residence.

No Forced Entry.

Officers were dispatched to Apartments Leasing Office to investigate Threats/ Intimidation. Officer’s investigation revealed that one of their tenants apartments were broken into. The tenant’s boyfriend came to the leasing office and made threats towards management regarding items that were stolen. As officers were approaching victim’s apartment, victim’s boyfriend came out and began yelling at the Officers and telling them to leave and they weren’t needed. (Note; This was not boyfriends apartment) Officers attempted to calm victim’s boyfriend down but he refused and continued to cause a disturbance. Victim’s boyfriend then attempted to leave the scene prior to Officers completing their investigation in regards to the threats. Officers attempted to stop boyfriend but he attempted to push his way past Officers. He continued to resist Officers and he was taken into custody. During the search incident to the arrest Officers recovered suspected marijuana in one of the suspect’s pockets.

Front door was forced open.

The subject was arrested for R&O and Possession of Marijuana. Several Officers were dispatched to residence for a Home Invasion / suicidal subject armed with a handgun. The subject was gone prior to Officers arrival. R/P stated that subject was upset about his girlfriend being homeless. Subject had a gun and threatened to shoot himself. R/P was concerned for his own safety so he went inside his residence and locked the door. The subject forced entry into the residence but then left prior to Officers arrival. The subject was later located and was committed. w/o incident.

Officers were dispatched to Car Rental where the customer who rented the Infinity with a stolen credit card was in their lobby to return it. Prior to Officers arrival the suspect fled on foot. The suspect wasn’t located at this time. Sometime later Officers were dispatched on a suspicious subject in the 25000 Block of Orchard Grove. The subject was located by Officers and he was taken into custody. The subject had discarded his shirt. Officers located suspect’s property in a vehicle that he had used to attempt to charge his cell phone. A porter for Car Dealership states the vehicle was discovered missing on Saturday July 11, 2015. It was last seen approximately two weeks ago.

When she looked out the motorcycle was gone. Victim states his bike has straight pipes with no baffle. If the bike would have been started he would have heard it. Victim stated the vehicle was parked in the driveway with the doors unlocked and keys in the visor. The vehicle was taken sometime between 7:00pm and the following morning at 7:30am.

(A block from the alleged theft). Victim stated 2 B/M’s were sitting in the car and jumped out and ran when they saw him. There was no damage to the vehicle yet victim claims he had both sets of keys when he made the initial report?

Victim states she was driving with her son (15 years old) and a friend of his (14 years old). Victim states she drove her son’s friend home When they arrived, victim states she stepped out of the vehicle for a moment to speak with her son’s friend’s mother when she observed her son driving away with her vehicle. Victim advises that her purse and cell phone were in the vehicle when her son took it. Victim also advised that her son is a run-away from Children’s Village. The subject was later located by Officers at a friend’s house in a neighboring community. The suspect was placed under arrest for R&C Motor Vehicle without incident. Suspect was in possession of keys to the stolen vehicle. When asked where his mother’s car was he stated he did not know the address but he was willing to point out its location to Officers. The stolen vehicle was located in the City of Detroit. The vehicle was parked behind an abandoned house and was not visible from the street. The suspect was returned to Children’s Village.

Victim advises that residence belongs to her sonin-law. The residence has a camera recording the driveway. They checked the video and discovered someone stealing the car around 1:30am on 7/14/15. Victim also states two days prior to the UDAA someone broke into two of their cars parked in the driveway. This occurred overnight on 07/11-07/12. One of the attacked vehicles was the Infinity. The driver door lock was punched and a set of car keys were stolen. No police report was ever filled.

Details Victim states he last saw his 2014 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, fully intact, parked in his carport around 4:00am. Victim returned to his motorcycle around 5:30pm and discovered someone had stolen his saddle bags and seat off the bike. Victim states sometime between 11:00pm and the following morning at 8:56am someone took All Four Wheels & Tires from his 2014 Ford Taurus. The vehicle was parked in the S/E corner of the parking lot at the Hotel.

Victim advises sometime between 6:00pm and the following morning at 6:30am someone took 3- Wheels & Tires from his 2015 Cadillac Escalade.

Victim noticed the license plate on his vehicle was missing when it was impounded by the management of his apartment complex. The plate was last seen on the vehicle approximately 2 months ago. No suspect information.

Victim stated personal property was stolen out of her vehicle sometime between Sunday July 19, 2015@ 8:00pm & Monday July 20, 2015 @ 1100am. There is no damage or signs of forced entry. It is unknown how entry was gained. No suspect information.

Armed Robbery: Date/Time 07/17/2015 12:30pm

Item Taken Attempted to take both victims cell phones.

Details Officers dispatched to the area of Stratford Woods Park on a report of a B/M pointing a handgun at a group of teens. One Southfield Officer was in the area and observed B/M suspect flee from the area. A Southfield Police K-9 was summoned and conducted a track and area search. During the area search K-9 alerted to a barbecue grill and upon inspection a handgun was found. After an extensive investigation by patrol officers a B/M juvenile suspect was arrested. This same juvenile fit the description of an armed robbery suspect that has been victimizing people in the area of Stratford Woods Park. The juvenile was transported to Oakland County Children’s Village. A warrant was obtained on suspect for Two Counts of Armed Robbery & One Count of Felonious Assault.

Jewelry and Cash was taken.

Victim was in the parking lot waiting for a friend who needed a ride when suspect entered his vehicle. The suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded victims necklace and all of his money. Victim gave suspect his jewelry and cash. The suspect fled on foot and was observed by victim entering an apartment building in the 27000 Block of Franklin Rd using a fob. Apartment Security arrived on scene and was briefed on incident. With assistance from Security, Southfield Officers were able to determine which apartment the suspect had gone to. A Search Warrant was obtained for Apartment. The suspect was located and taken into custody. Officers and Detectives recovered the Handgun, Jewelry and Cash that was taken. Officers and Detectives also recovered suspected marijuana from the apartment.

Victim responded to a Craigslist listing for an Xbox for a predetermined amount of money. Victim and the suspect arranged a meeting in the parking lot of business in the 20000 Block of 8 Mile Rd. The suspect was in the front passenger seat of a Maroon Chrysler 200, he asked to see the money. When victim showed him the money the suspect snatched it out of his hand and drove away.

Traffic Arrest: Possession of Marijuana/ CCW/ Possession of Prescription Drugs 2- Arrests 07/16/2015 3:32am 20000 Block of Southfield Rd. Officers were dispatched on suspicious occupied vehicle. Officers arrived and observed two B/M subjects sleeping in the vehicle. Officers also observed two bullet holes and a broken out window on the driver’s side of the vehicle. After approaching the vehicle Officers observed in plain view suspected marijuana throughout the vehicle. The driver was awakened and when questioned about bullet holes in the side of vehicle he stated that he was shot at in the hood in Detroit. The driver was removed from the vehicle and arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Officers also recovered prescription pills from this person during the search incident to the arrest. Further search of the vehicle recovered a handgun. The driver was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, CCW, & Possession of Prescription Drugs. The passenger was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. The subjects were in a Blue Buick Regal with no License Plate.

The owner of the business believes the suspect is one of his employee’s. After reviewing the video Detectives met with and interviewed the employee suspect. During the interview with employee he made admissions that he broke in and stole the money because he had a lot of debt to pay off. The suspect was arrested for Commercial B&E.
