14 September 2014 What can I do? What would he think? Would he think the baby is not from him? Would he think I have someone else? Would he think I don’t want him anymore? He will never believe me. He will never trust me. What can I do? I don’t know… Arend ran away today. He didn’t wanted to talk to me. He was so angry. He looked at me with that face he also has when he thinks I did something wrong, something bad. But this time I didn’t do anything. I have never been bad to him, and I never will. I love Arend, and he loves me. He can’t run away from me, from me and the baby. It wouldn’t be fair. But how can it be possible then? I understand him though. What would I have done when I see my wife having a black baby while we have no one from Afro-American roots in our family. It is weird, I know… For how long would he be gone? Who would be there for him where he can let everything go, say what he wants to say, be as angry as he wants to be, and cry. I was always the one he could lean on. Maybe his dad knows so mething that can help his tears stop. Maybe his dad knows what to say to calm him down. Perhaps Arend had someone in his family who was black. If he comes back we will talk about it. I will explain again that he can trust me no matter what. I am sure he will come back. He has to! For the baby’s sake. The baby needs a daddy and I need a man.
