TUESDA Y AFTERNOON SESSION Hymn: "Standing On The Promises" Scripture and prayer by C. F . Siler. Report on Christian Education. Given by Paul Tripp. Report adopted. MISSOURI BAPTIST COLLEGES The Lord continues to bless the world through the three Baptist colleges supported by Missouri Baptists. All three of our Missouri Baptist Colleges are fully accredited schools with an academic program designed to produce t he very best kind of a citizenry t hrough Christian education. This academic program places its emphasis upon the liberal arts attracting students to our Missouri Baptist college campuses from all over the United States and many foreign countries. Our youth are being prepared to fill responsible positions in many different professions and walks of life. We are especially grateful for the 456 students enrolled in our three colleges preparing themselves ' for the ministry and other full-time Christian vocations. The' Baptist Student Union has an active program on each of these three compuses. This service augments the development of Christian character and service which is emphasized daily through the chapel services on each campus. We are urged by each one of our colleges to continue to give our spiritual and financial support to help them meet the needs of their student bodies which was reflected through the 2,195 students enrolled last year. Additional facilities and student accommodations are needed by each of our three colleges which are: Hannibal LaGrange College, Hannibal, Missouri. Sout hwest Baptist College, Bolivar, Missouri. William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri. Paul E. Tripp SOUTHERN BAPTrST SEMINARIES Let us continue to give our loyal support to each of thes seminaries: Carver School of Missions, Louisville, Kentucky Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, California. Southern Baptists now have missionaries in 44 countries. Mission work is carried on through a varying number of institutions on each mission field-Churches, schools, hospitals, publication plants, good will centers. But the goal of each is evangelism. We also have 2,193 national pastors, 3,269 churches, and 6,332 chapels and mission points. Most of the churches have Sunday School. 28,228 baptisms were reported for 1959. AMERrCAN BIBLE SOCIETY The Bible is "The Book for Everyone." This is more than a slogan. It is the deep Conviction of the American Bible Society and all who recognize their stewardship of the Word of God. Each person must have the Bible in his own language. But in most countries people cannot afford even the cost of printing the Scriptures. The American Bible Society is an active partner of Southern Baptists. It serves every form of Southern Baptist Mission work at home and abroad. During 1959 the American Bible Society donated more than a million Scripture volumes for distribution by the Chaplain to our Armed Forces and patients in Veterans Hospitals. -Approached its 12th year of supplying s,criptures for the Blind far below cost: -Rejoiced that some part of the Bible has been published in -10-

CHRISTIAN LITERATURE Report by Chas. Vanzandt. Talked on by Chas . Vanzandt. Report adopted. RELIGIOUS LITERATURE It is of great importance, that we emphasize the reading of the kind of literature that will enlighten the reader as to the fundamental teaching of the Bible. Also, in order that our people be informed as to the work of our Southern Baptist Convention, we would recommend our State Baptist paper, The Word and Way and our home and Foreign magazines, our Sunday School, Training Union, W.M.U., and other helpful literature published by the Baptist Sunday School Board. We suggest, that we also recognize the great work done by the American Bible .Society, as they are ' printing' the Bible in almost every language and distributing copies to the people without cost. W. M. U. REPORT Report given by Thelma Fogg, Associa tional W.M.U. Presi dent. Report adopted. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts. Zechariah 4 :6. The above scr ipture has been our W.M.U . annual Watchword during the year of 1959-60. The verse is deep and meaningful, and certainly thoughtful women-women with spiritual insight- realize to a greater degree that our service must be in the Spirit of God, and that a Christian has no power except tha t given by the Holy Spirit. We trust that it is in this Spirit that we have moved forward . Chaney for their work in Churches and Associational activities in Barry County and praying God's richest blessings on them in their new fields of work. REPORT ON EVANGELISM Report made by Lawrence Henry. Spoken on by Mr. Henry. Report adopted. Missouri Baptists are making progress in their supreme task of winning the lost. In 1959 Missouri Baptist churches baptized 21,135 which was a substantial increase over the previous year. We also ha d fewer churches reporting no baptisms. The future of evangelism in Missouri is indeed bright. Our Associational Program of Evangelism includes the following: (1) an annual Baptist Jubilee Revival, (2) an annual Clinic on Evangelism, (3) reaching un reached areas through new churches and missions, (4) promoting a Pastor-led Soul Winning Campaign Through th e Sunday School, a nd (5) Televangelism. Our State-wide Evangelistic Conference will be held at Sedalia, Mo., January 9-11. Barry County Baptists had Simultaneous Revivals last Associabonal year. ~even Chur ches cooperating, Conversions 20. To tal received for Baptism 24. By letter a nd otherwise 3. Total number of rededications 2. Total Baptisms for Associational year 146, by letters 13. Revivals held 33. In order that our association may cooperate fully with the challenging program of evangelism now being promoted over our state, we make the foll owing recommendations to the association: That our association have a Baptist Jubilee Revival in each of the next three years on the following suggested date: 1961- 0ct. 2-15; 1962-0ct. 2-15 ; 1963-0ct. 2-15. That each church be urged to cooperate fully with the Training Union in promoting "The Spiritual Growth Program " so as to help to anchor and mature each new member coming into the fellowship of the church.
