Customize your Calendar se ings You can change many settings to customize your Google Calendar. Set notifications by email or phone for events, change the time zone and format, color-code events and calendars, change default views, and more.

Add another time zone If you work with people in another time zone, you can add their time zone to your Calendar. You’ll see both your current time zone and a secondary time zone displayed side-by-side at the left side of the screen. 1.
Sign in to Google Calendar with your G Suite username and password.

At the top, click Settings

Scroll down to the Time Zone section, and check
> Settings.
the Display secondary time zone box. The primary time zone reflects where you live. 4.
Click the Secondary time zone field, and select the time zone you wish to display on the calendar.
5.
In the Label field, enter text like “Home” or “Europe” to identify the time zone. This text shows up in a column next to the first day on your calendar.

Click the Back arrow
to return to your Calendar and save
your changes.

Get event noti cations on your desktop 1.
Sign in to Google Calendar with your G Suite username and password.
2.
At the top, click Settings
3.
Scroll down to Event settings.
4.
In the Notifications section, select Browser notifications.
> Settings.
With this setting, a discreet pop-up window appears in the corner of your screen to remind you of the event, without forcing you back to the Calendar page.

(Optional) If you want Calendar to also play a sound with the notification, check the Play sound box.

Click the Back arrow
to return to your Calendar and save
your changes.

Get event email or phone event noti cations You can set different notifications for each calendar you have. 1.
Sign in to Google Calendar with your G Suite username and password.
2.
At the left, hover over your calendar and click Options
> Settings
and sharing. 3.
Scroll down to the Event notifications and All-day event notifications sections.
4.
Click Add notification.
5.
Click the Notification field and select Email.
6.
Next, click the Minutes field and select minutes, hours, days, or weeks.
7.
Click the number field to the left of the Minutes field and select when you want a notification.
8.
(Optional) To get multiple notifications for the same event, repeat steps 4 to 7.

Change how you see your calendar You can change your settings if you don’t need Calendar to display weekends, or if you’d like the default view to show the entire month, the week, or the day. 1.
Sign in to Google Calendar with your G Suite username and password.

At the top, click Settings

Scroll down to the View options section and adjust your settings.

To toggle between seeing and hiding weekends, check the Show weekends box.

To set the date that your week starts on, click Start week on and select Monday, Saturday, or Sunday.

To set how many days are displayed in your calendar view, click Set custom view and select the number of days.

To focus your attention on the current events, check the Reduce the brightness of past events box.

Color-code calendars and events If you have more than one calendar, you can color-code them to quickly identify events that belong to a certain calendar. 1.
Sign in to Google Calendar with your G Suite username and password.
2.
Next to the calendar that you want to change the color for, click Options
and select a color.
Tip: Set a different color for reminders. This way you can tell the events and reminders apart at a glance. 3.
To give an individual event a different color than other events on that calendar, click on the event and click Edit
.

Scroll down and click on the color field, and select a color.

At the top, click Save.

Change se ings for a speci c calendar If you have more than one calendar, you can set general settings you’d like all of them to share. Then you can change preferences on individual calendars. 1.
Sign in to Google Calendar with your G Suite username and password.
2.
Hover over your calendar and click Options
> Settings and sharing.
Some of the settings you can change: ●
In the Calendar settings section, you can change the name of the calendar, its description, and the time zone. To do this, click the field and enter your text or select your time zone from the drop-down list.
●
In the General notifications section, you can get notified when someone changes or cancels events, or get an email with your daily agenda.
●
In the Access permissions and Share with specific people sections, you can share the calendar with others.
●
In the All-day event notifications section, you can choose the kind of notifications for events you receive and when you receive them.
●
In the General notifications section, you can choose what kind of events trigger notifications.
