EDITOR’S NOTE: Welcome to the first issue of the 2016-2017 Wilson Buzz! Below you will find an opportunity to get to know our new staff as each student was asked to interview themselves and let you, the reader, get to know them a little better. Enjoy!

She is so excited to play high school softball for TJ. But not so thrilled about going to high school. When Lilly grows up she wants to go to the University of Iowa. That’s her favorite football team. Although she wants to go to Iowa she said that she really wants to go to a college that has a great softball program. But that’s a little ways away for her. Lilly took this picture with he Council Bluffs- Many of you might know Lilly Thompson as the athletic girl who’s really funny, but she is way more than that. I sat down with Lilly to ask her what she was really into. She told me that there’s nothing she loves to do more than to play softball. Her favorite positions on the field are centerfield and shortstop, but that’s not all she loves to do. Lilly was born on May 19, she lives in Council Bluffs. She currently is an 8th grader at the school of Woodrow Wilson Junior High. For Elementary school she went to Rue from kindergarten all the way up to 5th grade.

Hannah Belt is the best person on the planet because Hannah just is. Hannah likes to play lots of sports like, soccer basketball track cross country and softball. Her hobby is to do fun things like to go boating or ride my four wheelers and dirt bikes. She is funny weird and she is crazy half the time and she has so much friends you won't believe it. Did you know Hannah loves animals like dogs and she really cares about them and her family and friends? Hannah was born in council bluffs Iowa on December 25 2002, and Hannah is a Christmas Baby! She is currently in 8th grade and she goes to Wilson middle school and she really likes this school, her teachers are a big help in her life. Hannah is a good student she loves to help out teachers and have fun at the same time.

She wants to go to the Olympics to do track and feild. Or she wants to play basketball because Marissa Janning is her favorite player ever! She is so good I wish to be like her some day. She is focusing on her grades and so she can play all theses sports. Hannah can't wait for her future to come ahead in life.

to long. Tatum had a hard time when her uncle died; he was very loved and knew everyone. She also had a hard time when she lost her soccer tournament. She loves hanging out with her best friends, because she can be herself around them. When I sat down with a few of her friends, they told me Tatum is a very creative person and loves to be loud. She is very fun to be around. She always knows how to cheer her friends and family up when they are upset. She just LOVES to be funny.

Maddie and Chloe CARTER LAKE - Madeline Edgar is a student at Woodrow Wilson Middle school. People might know me as the quirky, outgoing, athletic smart girl who is in 8th grade. She is that one girl who does weird stuff in class and is a total goofball. Madeline has opened up to me and has told me about her childhood and how her it is living in the moment. Maddie’s likes are: She is obsessed with the TV show The Fosters. She likes the color blue, and not just any kind of blue it has to be baby blue! She likes learning about cancer and how to get rid of it. Madeline also likes her puppies Mylo and Mya. Her dislikes would be spiders, snakes, and thunder she is afraid of it. Maddie’s hobbies include reading, coloring, listening to music, gymnastics, and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite book is The Fault In Our Stars. COUNCIL BLUFFS - Many of you might know Chloe Berard as the weird 8th grader, who goes to Wilson middle school . She is so much fun to be around always making people laugh and have a good time. She's outgoing and nice when she wants to be . She is always trying her best . She always gets good grades in school. She recently interviewed her about where she mostly grew up and some of her hobbies. She was born in council bluffs then she moved to Glenwood and lived in 3 different houses. There after that Chloe moved to Tabor and lived there for a year . Then she moved to Omaha then back to Glenwood , and she lived till Chloe was in preschool . her and her Mom moved to Council Bluffs , moved around a bit more till 4th grade and Chloe has lived in that house since. I interviewed David Salas he is 13 years old his favorite sport is soccer he goes to Wilson middle school. and he has been playing and watching soccer for a very long time It is his favorite sport almost 8 years he is still practicing and getting better at Soccer and he said that he wants to be a pro soccer player when he gets We were going to interview after his last game but he left before we could find him His plans are to graduate and go to college. And his parents are from Mexico his dad Also played soccer and quit a couple years ago he that is how he got to like soccer.

This is a bed that Anthony Hernandez sleeps on I interviewed Anthony Hernandez today and the first thing he said is that his best friend is his bed. Anthony is 13 years old and attends Woodrow Wilson Middle School, in 8th grade. He also said that he likes the color Red for blood and blue for his bed sheet. Anthony’s future plan is to go to college to get more knowledge. He as two siblings, one 4 month brother, and a 10 year old sister. He also said his sister is a pain in the neck sometimes. :( His favorite thing to do is watch Netflix and ride his bike to the nearest gas station. Drama, Comedy and Power rangers. His favorite power ranger is the red one because he’s the leader. He goes to the gas station for random things and casually free air. He also said he tries to watch all the episodes on Netflix but he fells asleep every 30 minute into the show. Anthony’s dad is from Mexico, and his mom is from here. He is Mexican American and loves it because he can hear the Spanish insults. He is also proud of it because the food, his favorite food is tacos and enchiladas. One Of His Favorite Sports Kaleb was born on May 1st, 2003. He was born at jenny ed. He wasn’t supposed to be alive still because there was something wrong with the birth but he still is alive to this day. Kaleb is 13 years old if you can’t do the math. He goes to a middle school called Woodrow Wilson. He has 5 people in his family counting himself his dad (Dereke) his mom (Tonya) and his 2 sisters, (Alyssa) and (Sophia.) I had the lucky chance to interview this young man. Some of Kaleb’s favorite hobbies are Football, Basketball and video games. Some of his favorite Mary video games are Call Of Duty Black Ops 3. Mary says she enjoys it and it’s one of her best subject.

Zack would one day be a pilot when he grows up. Zack is from the state of Nebraska. He also likes to run and do sit ups. He loves to always wake up his brother in the morning. And Zack always does his hygiene and waits for his bus.

Council Bluffs-The new kid into Wilson Middle School this year, the strange mohawked quiet kid who’s new to Wilson. I got to talk to that kid, that kid’s name is Ryan Kroupa. A kid immersed into video game fantasies, rather than the real world. Ryan Kroupa may be quiet at school, but, at home he’s loud & proud. Talking to his two internet friends and playing Fallout New Vegas. Ryan Kroupa was born on Maricopa Drive, in Fairway Meadows Townhomes Oshkosh, Wisconsin . He lived there until he was 3, along with his Father, Mother, and Annoying Sister who kept asking when he would leave. This is where he first encountered Shadow People, and his only encounter with them. When he was 4 his

During this time his parents began fighting and eventually his mom moved His sister and him to Council Bluffs when he was 10, his dad following close behind. Ryan Kroupa is always immersed in a book, and a game all at the same time. Right now, the game he is most immersed in is a game called Hotline Miami, a game set in drug fueled alternate history Miami in the 80’s where The Red’s are invading and Hawaii is already under their control. He currently is immersed in the book Star Wars: Imperial Commando. A great ending to The Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss. He’s particularly interested in RPG’s or retro games, from the 80’s & 90’s.

c++ programming image COUNCIL BLUFFS - You probably don’t know Colton Cook. He just moved here during the summer and started to learn c++. He says he still doesn't know all of c++ but will get there eventually. If you don’t know what c++ is it is a Programming language. That can almost do anything (except graphical) It is one of the languages that run your computer programs, exe files and more. They are called Programmers. For example it can do math and can be used to make games. He says he is working on a stock market game he said “Games are hard to make you can’t just make one right away.” The Stock market game he is making is really interesting but is hard to make he said he only has the tutorial done and that there is a Big bug in the program. Bugs are the short word for something bad that won’t run your program. He is working on the input for the buy and sell functions. He said he is taking a break from and started another project which is finished and he is making better every time. What he made is a virtual key translator and keyboard catcher. In simpler terms it is called a keylogger some people do bad things with keyloggers but he doesn't. A keylogger is a program that can run in the background and takes whatever you type and copies it into a file usually a .txt file. He plans to use c++ as a job when he grows up and plans to learn java later (another language).In c++ you can make things like an email with smtp server (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). He has made many projects like a MD5 cracker which cracks md5 hashes but he said it wasn't that hard. He has not made an smtp server or mailer because it is hard and he said it would probably use Perl to set up a server between the client and the host. He uses An IDE integrated development

Noah Martinez’s favorite baseball team. Council Bluffs- Noah Martinez was born in Lincoln, Nebraska at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. He lived in Lincoln for 7 years and then moved to Minatare, Nebraska for 1 year. After that Noah moved back to Lincoln for 2 years then moved back to Western Nebraska to a small town called Bayard. That city lasted 1 year Noah Martinez says before he moved back to Lincoln. Then he moved to Council Bluffs for 1 year. Then moved to Omaha for a couple of months. Sporty Kid By Dylan Carman COUNCIL BLUFFS - We all know Dylan Carman as Wilson’s sports Superstar, well that’s how he puts it. Dylan grew up on the east side of Council Bluffs. Then he moved to the west side of Council Bluffs, but he just didn’t stay in one house. He moved around a lot, Almost every summer he moved into a new home. I managed to get an Interview with him and he told me about his favorite things, Dylan likes many sports, including Football, Basketball, Wrestling, and Track. His favorite sports teams are, the Houston Texans, and The Toronto Raptors. Dylan dislikes all the bandwagon people who like the, Broncos, Patriots, Golden State Warriors, and The Cleveland Cavaliers. He wants to play in the NFL for either the Houston Texans or the Miami Dolphins. He either want to play as a defensive end or a defensive tackle. Dylan’s favorite subject is Math. Something else that you might want to know about Nataliyah is that during the summer of 2013 her parents split up for about 5 or 6 months. It was really hard on her because she had lived with both of her parents ever since she was a baby. But once everything was done for, her parents got back together and it has been wonderful with both of her parents living with her as she told me during the interview.

This is Nataliyah’s family at Garden of the Gods in Denver, Colorado. The adventures of Taylor Thallas Taylor Thallas COUNCIL BLUFFS - Nataliyah was born on September 5th, 2003. She was born at a hospital in Omaha at 11:46 at night. Nataliyah is 13 years old exactly no halves or thirds or fourths or anything. She goes to a middle school called Woodrow Wilson. She lives with her mom (Amy), her dad (Byron), her two brothers (Brayden and Brycen), and a Siberian husky (Holly). I was lucky to get to interview this woman. She is one of a kind! Some of Nataliyah’s favorite hobbies are dancing which she does at A Step Ahead Dance Studio, and she also listens to A LOT of music. She dances Ballet, Lyrical, Tap and Jazz. Taylor Thallas is just another one of the 8th graders. But you may know Taylor Thallas as a funny, outgoing positive person. She has many hobbies. Most of them contain sports. Vol. 3 Issue 1 Taylor was born on October 15, 2002. She somehow ended up having the same birthday as her dad. Taylor is currently 13 years of age but is turning 14 very soon. Now into her sports. Boxing has become a new sport of Taylors that was introduced to her by one of her friend. She had mixed emotions about it at first but now she considers her boxing crew as a second family. Basketball is also one of her big sports. She has been playing for a very long time and hopes to be very successful one day in the sport. Taylor has gone to many schools. Starting at Carter Lake elementary. She had then moved and headed over to council bluffs. Then she went to Lewis and Clark but eventually went back to carter lake. She lived there and eventually 6th grade came when Taylor had to go to Wilson middle school. She also mentioned to us that she was a little nervous about middle school but then seemed to like it after a while. She is still currently at Wilson as an outgoing positive independent 8th grader. Not to long from now she then told us she will be transferring to Abraham Lincoln High school because of Her new location. Well That's all for this interview of Taylor Thallas.

Kadin McCabe likes to play football and do sports he also like to watch football on the weekends and eat food. Kadin doesn't like school because he wakes up so early every morning. He also wants to go to college but he has to do good in school. Kadin does not like to stay inside allot he likes to go skate board and he likes to scooter too but he hasn't in awhile. His favorite food is pizza and his least favorite food is candy corn m&ms. Kadin likes to sleep a lot but he doesn't like to waste his day. During the summer Kadin likes to scooter and play sport. Kadin wrestles and plays football, he first played football for C.B. jets then played for Jr. Lynx. Kadin first wrestled for C.B. Panthers then High Voltage and now Power House. He doesn’t like his little sister but he has 4 brothers and 1 sister. My dad has 4 kids my mom has 2 other kids. My newest brother is 1 year old his name is Dominick. My brothers names are Trevin, Isaiah, Kash and Dominick.

One Of The Craziest Students By Ryan Smith

Ryan’s favorite zombie map. Today I interviewed Ryan Smith and he told me a lot about what he does and what he likes. He lives in Carter Lake Iowa with his mom and dad. He's an only child and has a dog named Dugger and a cat named Grace. Ryan loves to play call of duty and other first person shooters like destiny and battlefield because they are action packed all the way tru. His favorite game mode is zombies on call of duty especially the giant from black ops 3 cause it’s a remake of the 4th zombie map made plus it has lots of training and camping spots. Ryan loves math he always wants extra work in class. He hates lang arts the most but he loves to read, He reads when ever he can but he hates to do this kind of stuff at home. He said that he wants to be a game designer/tester when he grows up. He’s also thinking about being an accountant at IAT Specialty in Omaha. This is Kayden Good and her Sister Falencia Good. COUNCIL BLUFFS - Kayden likes football, wrestling, and boxing. She likes football, wrestling, and boxing because, her dad coaches those things. Kayden started boxing when she was 10 and she started wrestling when she was 11. She used to be in gymnastics when she was 3 and until she was 8 because she hurt her knee. When Kayden was in gymnastics she tore a ligament in her knee that is why her career is over in gymnastics.

Kayden has 6 uncles and 2 aunts, their name’s are, Tommy, Vance, Chris, Chad, Timmy, and Trinity and her father David. Her aunt’s name’s are Tila - Angel, and Melody. She has a lot of cousins that she has met so far and she can't remember their names right off the top of her head. Kayden has a step mom, her name is Stephanie. Vol. 3 Issue 1 Her grandma had passed away April 14th 2015, the day of her grandma’s funeral her uncle passed away, It’s been very hard on Kylee. She still hasn't fully comprehended that her grandmother passed, to her it still feels like she’s waiting at home. Her favorite sport is football, she loves football season, and it’s her favorite time of year. Halloween is her favorite Holiday because she just likes the season that goes with it. She doesn’t quite know what she wants to be when she grows up yet, She doesn’t really have a plan for the future. She quotes “If the future comes, that’s when I’ll plan it.” Kylee has been struggling through depression since she was 12 years old. She has been to the hospital 3 times for trying to kill herself. But she says that’s in the past. Her favorite subject in school is math because that’s one out of a few classes she actually get and understands. She is trying to overcome depression but now is just a hard time for her and she doesn't have faith in herself that she can.
