Message from

DEAN CEPT University focuses on understanding, designing, planning, constructing and managing human habitats. Its teaching programs build thoughtful professionals and its research programs deepen understanding of human settlements. Urbanization is growing in India at an increasing pace requiring large basic amenities and infrastructure. A massive input of resources is required to strengthen, improve and enlarge the amenities, non accessible locations or even developing the current infrastructure based on impacts. This calls for development of new technologies and judicious use of existing ones and where necessary, appropriate technology.

Competent developers and analyst are required to understand, analyze and develop better models and studies for the current and upcoming technologies. Master of Technology Geomatics (Mgeo.) program aims to combine core fields like planning, civil engineering, information technology engineering enabling students to add complementary aspects such as infrastructure planning, financing, and project management. I have enjoyed every moment spent with you, teaching, discussing, trouble shooting, socialising and celebrating many technical events together for two years. I recollect first day of your joining when we met in the classroom, and you asked what is Geomatics? What are you going to study? Very few of you were aware about this specialisation. Geomatics discipline integrates the acquisition, management, analysis, modelling and presentation of geospatial information forming a specialized branch of planning, applications and I.T. M.Tech in this field is a professional course which is unique and different than mainstream specialization, which offers latest space-based technology namely Remote Sensing, GIS, Database Management Systems, Programming Languages, Photogrammetry, Navigation and Positioning Systems, GPS, LIDAR, Big-Data, Web and Mobile GIS, Project Planning and Geo-visualization. The program emphasizes on practical applications through hands-on exercises, studio(real-time case studies), theory and independent dissertation.
