All first timers to the Carol Ann Richard Media Center should let us know you are new and we will show you around. A training conducted by our staff is required for use of the lettering machines. Only Lafayette Parish School System employees, parent volunteers, and student teachers may operate equipment. SORRY!!! No children of any age are allowed in the Production Room.
Parent Volunteers Many schools have parent volunteers who come at assigned times during the day to letter and laminate.
The Carol Ann Richard Media Center is located in the Vermilion Conference Center at
326 Gauthier Road Lafayette, LA 70501 Phone: 337.521.7181 MONDAY through FRIDAY and ALL Summer 7:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. open during lunch. The Carol Ann Richard Media Center will also be open some Saturdays once a month from 9:00 - 1:00 during the school year.
Visit our webpage for these dates. http://www.lpssonline.com/site204.php. During school holidays, the Caro Ann Richard Media Center follows the same schedule as the School Board Office. This means that we will be open on many days when schools are closed.

The Carol Ann Richard Media Center provides a production and instructional materials center to produce and preserve teaching products for use with students. Educational films and a professional development library are also provided to help compliment the teaching and learning process.
The Carol Ann Richard Media Center is open to ALL teachers, administrators and staff employed by the Lafayette Parish School System. University students may also utilize the CENTER. Supervising teachers must call to schedule the orientation visit.

PRODUCTION SERVICES Lettering & Laminating The Carol Ann Richard Media Center furnishes the supplies for teachers to make letters and patterns for use in the classroom. Teacher’s may laminate for long term use, commercial and teacher made items, that will stay in the classroom or school for teaching or display. However, if teachers wish to make items (name tags, rewards, gifts, etc.) that children will keep or are consumable, teachers must furnish their own paper or pay the CENTER for the cost of supplies.
Orders Teachers can email or call about posters to be produced (posters are limited) and small projects done, like die cuts, and we can return materials to you on the LPSS mail currier service. If your school has a parent volunteer that comes to the Media Center you won’t have to order this way.
Supplies When materials are constructed in the Media Center , the poster boards, construction paper, transparencies, etc. are provided. The Center, however, cannot provide extra supplies to take back to school.

Our on-line catalog of AV/ Print Materials is also available on this site. The MAIL COURIER SERVICE delivers and picks-up instructional materials in the schools every other day.
To order instructional materials for a twoweek loan, please follow this procedure:
Poster Printer
The large poster printer will print a poster in full color from a computer file. This is the only service we charge for. The black and white poster is $2.00 and the full color poster is $4.00. Call for more information.
Order on-line by email through the Web Collection or call the office at 521-7181. Call or email at least three days before the material is needed. The items will be delivered to the designated Mail Courier location in your school’s office. When returning, repackage in the original red bag and place back in the office. All equipment MUST be hand carried to and from the Media Center. You are always welcome to come to the Media Center and check-out materials in person.
