Free Active Shooter Safety Seminar Polytech Industrial, a tenant in the Huntersville Professional Building in the back of The Park, is hosting a FREE session of Lockdown International’s Active Shooter Survival: The ABC'S to Active Shooter Response training presentation. Because this information is so important they wanted to see if other companies within The Park may be interested in attending.

Active Shooter Survival. Not exactly words one wants to read, hear or think about in the context of going to work each day, or sending a child off to school to what is supposed to be a safe place. Sadly however, this has become the reality of our daily lives. But there are things you can do to be proactive and prepared for the unthinkable.

According to the FBI, the majority of active shooter events are over in less than 5 minutes. The average police response time is approximately 5 minutes. So this begs the question... Can you survive 5 minutes with an active shooter?

Many people were taught to simply hide under a desk or huddle in the back of the room when there is an armed person in the building. We have learned time and time again, this is not effective. Lockdown International's Active Shooter Survival: The ABC'S to Active Shooter Response training is a course designed to provide and empower individuals with the survival skills to stay alive until law enforcement arrives, and ultimately survive an active shooter event. These are skills that translate to a workplace, school, place of worship, community organization or any other location in which an active shooter can be a threat. This is a high energy presentation with interactions and demonstrations. We do not use hands-on training or surprise scenarios.

Topics to be discussed: - Lessons Learned from Prior Events - Evolution of Law Enforcement Response - Workplace Violence - Human Response to Stress - The ABC'S Plan (Avoid, Barricade, Counter, Survive) - Tactical First Aid - How to React When Law Enforcement Arrives

This course is completely FREE, but registration is required. Takeaway materials will be provided, along with light refreshments. Both sessions will be held at the office, located at 11330 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.

March 13, 2017 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm Click HERE to register for this afternoon session. or March 16, 2017 from 9:00am - 12:00pm Click HERE to register for this morning session.
