The National Research Laboratory for conservation of cultural property has recently been established by the Government of India at Lucknow to conduct researches on various mediums of art, their preservation aspects and to train-up museum personnel in conservation in India and South-East Asia. The Conservation Laboratory of the National Museum, New Delhi, is provided with modern equipments. Besides the skilled and experienced staff to conserve the vast variety of materials found in India, it includes specialists to take care of the oil paintings of Western origin also. Several other big institutions like the Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad, Indian Museum, Calcutta, Prince of Wales Museum, Bombay, the Govt.
