on SC, FB, and IG On The Inside BCC Social media is the be negative attributes of strongest medium that students today utilize on a daily basis to share information. News reports and images, in relation to Bay City Central, are shared incredibly easily, letting connections with other people to be the simplest form of public involvement. Social media allows self reflection and understanding that individuals can uniquely share for others to view, whether it be about sports achievements, educational accomplishments, or other notable news. Along with the positives, there are bound to

anything. Isiah Narvaiz, a BCC senior, was asked about his opinion on how BCC is expressed online and said, “There is more good information and news about Central’s sports teams, but when it comes to students, less positive information is out there.” There is considerable independence and freedom students receive from their cyber identity, however, some information may become subject to misguided judgment that can negatively affect students and BCC. Identity crises plague a great majority of students

I've been to the United States at other times, I knew the culture was different, but you do not compare the knowledge that you acquire in a trip to the knowledge that you acquire living. It all begins with the knowledge of the people, in the literal sense, we Brazilian people greet people with a hug in the "pleasure to meet you" and Americans greet with a handshake. Brazilians are much more affectionate, usually show affection with hugs and kisses

relationships, but also with friends and family. At home, most Brazilians have a bad habit, which is not doing things at home, such as washing dishes, mowing the lawn, washing clothes, and cleaning the house. Instead, they hire people to do those jobs they could do themselves., I, particularly, think this is a horrible habit and I admire that Americans do not it. In a matter of hygiene, Brazilians brush their teeth after the main meals, and some brush their teeth after having a snack. Americans find it enough to brush their

Students would rather tell someone to get to know them by adding them on Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and or Twitter to avoid face to face conversation. At lunch, you can not miss rice and beans, it is traditional Brazilian cuisine. I’ve found that in the United States, the taste of rice and beans is different as well. We also do not have the habit of eating as much food as Americans do, we prefer homemade and healthier food.

Professional Amateur Food Reviewers: Fry Guys Over the summer three students, Parker Haller, Christian Vitale, and myself, went around Bay City, Saginaw, and Birch Run to find out which fast food restaurant truly has the best fries. Our results are a combination of scores from the three of us on the different categories, Flavor, Texture, and Grease (which had a multiplier of .75 to lower the score as it was affecting scores to much.) In Bay City we went to seven different fast food restaurants; McDonald’s, Mr. Hot Dogs, Wendy’s, Arby’s, Burger King, Rally’s, and A&W. Mr. Hot dogs had the worst score out of all the restaurants we reviewed with a 39%. The fries simply had no taste and pretty greasy. McDonald’s had

our second lowest score with a 51%. The fries had more taste, but just felt mediocre. Bay City had our best scored fries as well with Arby’s having a score of 78%. The fries had amazing taste and texture, but were a bit too greasy. The next city we went to was Saginaw for four more restaurants; Culver’s, Popeyes, Long John Silvers, and Old Town Drive -In. The best score in Saginaw was from Culver’s with a 71%, while the lowest score came from Long John Silvers with a 55%. Culver’s fries had about no

The iPhone X and iPhone 8 On September 12th, 2017, at the Steve Jobs Theater, Apple released it’s two new phones. The much awaited devices are the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, followed by the iPhone X, otherwise known as the iPhone 10. Apple has spent a lot of time on making these phones, which are big advancements in what we know as phone technology. As Tim Cook said about the advancements, “It’s a way of expressing to our species our deep appreciation. That’s what’s going to keep Apple, Apple. If we keep us, us.” The iPhone 10 is the one that people are most excited about. In order to celebrate the anniversary of the iPhone, Apple released the 10 with big advancements in its technology. The 10 has a glass back and front, with a full 5.8 in super retina display. It has wireless charging and full depth cameras, which makes facial ID incredibly secure. In fact, this phone no longer has the

home button. It is unlocked via facial ID and uses familiar gestures to move from app to app. Another unusual new feature is the vertical camera on the outside, and portrait studio light filters for pictures. Due to it’s A11 Bionic processor, the fast phone is able to run augmented reality apps and features Animoji. It seems most people are already over the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Neither have the full screen like the iPhone 10 does, and are actually closer to the iPhone 7 than anything. Both phones still inherit the home button and don’t have facial ID. The phones still have the horizontal outside cameras, but do have glass fronting and backing, which make wireless charging possible. The iPhone 8 Plus does, however, possess the A11 Bionic processor, so it can run augmented reality apps. Of course, people will want to buy the new phones right away.

Joey Bailey grease at all with a pretty decent taste. “Culver’s fries are my personal favorite,” said Parker Haller. Long John Silvers fries unsurprisingly had a fishy taste which brought their score down. The last city we hit was Birch Run for three restaurants; Dairy Queen, Halo Burger, and Sonic. Dairy Queen had the best fries here with a 71% while Sonic had the lowest score here, barely beating McDonald's with a 53%. Dairy Queen’s fries had little grease and pretty good texture with an alright taste. Sonic’s fries were generally lacking in all categories, but were still ok. Link to spreadsheet of scores. Hannah Sullivan For their consideration, the iPhone 10, in a full payment, is $999, $699 for the 8, and $799 for the 8 Plus. The prices are worth it, seeing as the 10 has a full screen display of 5.8 in, the 8 Plus has a 5.5 in display, and the 8 only has a 4.7 in screen. The iPhone 8 will be available for preorders on September 15th and the iPhone X will be available for pre-order on October 27th. Space grey, gold, and silver are the available colors for the 8, and the 10 comes in silver and space grey. Some information taken from: Source and source.

Dear Class of 2021

Welcome to Bay City Central High School. I have heard many things about you so far, you're a very interesting group of children. Yes children, that is not a spelling error. So far I heard that you guys like to fight. You all are big and bad, and to cool for school. Also I have heard that the teachers just love you. As a senior we were told that you children look up to us. I don't recall us seniors leaving a mess at the lunch table, giving teachers attitude, or fighting the first week of school. Soon you guys will learn, and soon you will guys won’t be children anymore you’ll be young adults. Soon you will realize that fighting is pointless, and there

are more important things to worry about. In four years, you are going to look back and think, “Wow, why did I ever waste my time on that person?” or “Why did I ever worry about that.?” “I wished that I would have cared more my freshman year, and would have started better habits,” says a BCC senior. My advice to you is do things that make you happy, don't worry about what people think about you, and be the best person that you can be. I remember being in your shoes and thinking, “Can this go faster? Can I get high school over with?” But now I regret that, and wish that I would have enjoyed it more.

Female Athlete of the Week: Alexus Jordan Alexus Jordan is a senior at Bay City Central. She is a captain of the Bay City Central Varsity Dance Team. She has been on the dance team for all four years at BCC. Jordan also has been a captain on the BCCVDT for two years with Malena Facundo. They were the first ever Junior captains in BCCVDT history. On top of being the captain, she also has helped choreograph every dance for the past two years. Jordan inspires people to join BCCVDT and enjoy the team as much as she has. Jordan said, “Halftime is game time.” Jordan has been busy her whole life with athletics. Jordan has been taking dance lessons for 13 years of her life. She has taken six different types of dancing classes, but her favorite type is pointe dancing. She was on the Handy volleyball, swimming, and track teams. She then stopped playing these sports so she could focus on dance. In high school, she has played soccer,

but she quit after sophomore year to take on BCCVDT as a captain. Jordan thinks that “Being an athlete helps you throughout high school.” She enjoys watching sports nearly as much as playing them. Jordan thinks that all kids should push themselves to do something that interests them in high school. Jordan encourages you to find something at BCC that is fun to you because there are so many options here at BCC.

A Close One

Last week Bay City Central (1-1), led by coach Morley Fraser, took on Flint Powers Catholic (2-0) in an epic Saginaw Valley Blue Division Showdown on Friday September 8, 2017 at Elmer Engel Stadium. The winner would be deemed first place in the division. Both teams came into the game after each coming off overtime victories in Week 2. Central started the game off hot taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Both were touchdown passes by Brian Elder, connecting with Judson Morse and Garrett Glysz. Powers, on the other hand, were not fazed while they came back strong tying the game 14-14, after miscommunication on defense and turnovers on special teams. Powers ends up taking the lead 21-14 in the first half. That didn't stop Central’s all

state running back Dequez

In the third quarter Powers takes the lead 28-21, and shows outstanding defense in the third quarter, holding Central to zero points. In the fourth quarter, Central turns up the engine and ties the game 28-28 with 6:21, on a quarterback sneak by Elder, and the crowd goes crazy. Cen-

Pennywise kept all of the children he had captured floating in the air of the well, hence the saying, “You’ll float too.” Scott played Georgie, the little boy who had first met Pennywise. Soon after his interaction with Pennywise, he became a victim. Pennywise would use Scott to lure out Lieberher by saying, “Bill? If you’ll come with me, you’ll float too.” Lieberher played the role of Bill, Georgie’s brother, who would not give up on trying to find him. Lieberher took all of his friends on the hunt to search the sewers for his little brother. The seven friends went on a search for Georgie, getting themselves into deeper trouble than they had thought. They knew that if they split up they wouldn’t stand a chance against Pennywise.

Opening weekend for It brought in nearly $117,150,000 from the box office. It was one of the most talked about scary movies coming out, and it most certainly was very well directed. In my opinion It was just a typical scary movie. I believe most of the scenes were extremely predictable, and it seemed pretty fake in most of the scenes. If they had made the scenes more realistic I believe it could have been a fantastic scary movie. While watching the movie I laughed more than I was scared which may have disappointed me in the end. Extraordinary Teaching Mrs. Panzer is a special education teacher at Bay City Central. I decided to interview her because her class isn’t the easiest class and I’ve always known Panzer as being a very kindhearted person, who has a lot of patience. Panzer has also been known for how well she explains everything. I started the interview off by asking her a few questions about her career. The first question that was asked was, what is the key to being a great teacher? She responded, “Teachers must build a rapport with their students and try to create a comfortable environment where the children are willing to take risks.”

Next was, what do you need in

order to work well with your students? She responded,

Irma Devastates the Caribbean and Florida This hurricane season has been like no other. It was what had looked like a slow season in terms of hurricanes, but then came a string of hurricanes that put all of North America on edge. Hurricane Harvey brought massive floods to Texas, including in the major city of Houston. Just over a week later, headlines were about the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic ocean. Hurricane Irma was probably the most covered hurricane of all time, due to its size and strength. Evacuation orders were given out by local governments depending on where they were in relation to the path of Irma. It reached a category five by the time the storm reached the Caribbean Islands. The first island that the storm hit was Barbuda, at the time of the strike, the hurricane hit the island of 1,600 people at full force bringing over 185 mph wind speeds. Once it was all said and done, around 90 percent of the buildings on the island were de-

stroyed. Irma did not stop there, it also hit Saint Martin, Anguilla, and some of the US virgin islands at category five winds. As it continued on, the hurricane moved north of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, Irma struck parts of Cuba at category 5 winds but the storm reduced to a category three while over Cuba. Many residents in Florida decided to evacuate their homes before Irma arrived. Thankfully for Florida, Irma had reduced in intensity by quite a bit. The Florida Keys got rocked by the eye of Irma, but once it reached the mainland of Florida, the hurricane was only category two. The only problem for Florida was the storm surge and flooding that came with it. Now that the storm has dissipated, the recovery efforts are underway for many that were affected by Irma. However, many in the Caribbean don’t want to be forgotten about in those efforts, including Conn Davis, a resident

Callie Sage “Teachers need patience and empathy in order to meet the needs of their student.” Why did you choose this career? “I had a teacher that was really hard on me because I struggled with reading. I wanted to be a teacher that made a positive difference.” Lastly, Panzer was asked, what methods have you used, or have used to encourage students to explore their learning opportunities? “I make an effort to provide a variety of instructional opportunities, so that my students do not get bored.” Pictured: Callie Sage, left, and Mrs. Panzner Picture Credit: Callie Sage

Many people like Davis are living without homes due Irma, and it is up to us to help out those affected by Irma. Pictured: Hurricane Irma before it strikes the Caribbean Islands. The Storm that Shocked the World Hurricane Harvey started August 25, 2017 and ended September 2, 2017. When Harvey

landed in Houston, Texas. It was labeled a category four hurricane

with 130 mph winds. The storm lasted about nine days, dropped more than 40 inches of rain, and was labeled the strongest hurricane in 12 years. It was a very up and down like storm, it started off weak, strengthened, got weak again and then began to strengthen when it landed. While it was going on, it had 72 confirmed deaths and many injuries. This hurricane was the worst flooding disaster in U.S. history, and was the 3rd worst coastal hurricane ever. Hurricane Harvey did not just affect Houston, it trig-

Why We Sleep Sleep is as vital to humans as eating and drinking. In fact studies show if you sleep more, it can actually improve how you eat and manage your stress. Recently, children from all around went back to the lovely prison nicknamed school. This means they are most likely back in the habit of not sleeping enough. Studies have found that only about 15% of teens get enough sleep. Eight to ten hours. Some of this is due to the human body. The adolescent body does naturally shift sleep patterns from time to time. Combine this with students staying up late and sleeping in on weekends, students biological clocks are all over the place. Lack of sleep can be a dreadful thing. Hannah Sullivan, senior at Bay City Central, is quoted saying, “You feel moody and it’s hard to concentrate.” If a person doesn’t get enough sleep the brain doesn’t work properly. On a minor scale you may experience some abnormalities in your emotions. For example, you may not show positive emotions meaning, you may not let people see

asleep without even knowing it. Microsleeps are when you sleep in short bursts like 30 seconds. If you're driving it could prove to be a tad dangerous. Do’s and Don’ts of High School High school is the time for growth, by the end of these four years you spend at Bay City Central High School, you will hopefully mature and grow into the adult you should be. However, there are a few things every student should DO and DON’T. DO: Go to every game you can, you only have four years here, if you spend every year indoors, and instead of in the student section cheering on the team, you’ll regret it down the road. Join as many clubs as you find interesting: it allows you to meet new people, as well as helping you build your people skills. Eventually you’ll have to meet new people, and work together with them, whether that be college or a job, so why not start early? Lastly, and the most important do for high school: Treat

Makayla King anything else you desire. Our eyebrow wax service includes, trimming your brows, shaping them if they look lost and creating an amazing arch to make the eyebrow look f-l-a-w-l-e-s-s. You can find all of these services at Five Star Nails in Bay City, stop by and get fleeked, especially with homecoming coming up.

your teachers with the utmost respect. If you show an attempt, down the road they will be there to help you out, they’ll be the people you remember when you’re older, rather than the classmates you had. DON’T: First and foremost, don’t change who you are, if people can’t accept you for you (within reasonable standards) then that’s their loss. Don’t pick out people and belittle them, do your own thing and stop worrying about others if it doesn’t pertain to you. You have no clue what that person has going on in their life and the last thing they need is to be picked apart in the one place they thought they could feel safe. Finally, don’t miss an opportunity to do something for the fear you

won’t do well. The best thing you can do is try and that’s all anyone here asks of you. High school can be the place you dread to go to, or the best part of your day. I hope you make it the latter.

Irma in the Carolinas

Hurricane Irma has caused a great amount of devastation to many families in Florida. Some people lost their homes, their pets, and even some of their family members. However, Florida wasn’t Irma’s only target. The hurricane traveled up the West Coast while downgrading into a tropical storm hitting Georgia and the Carolinas. One of the people affected by Irma was Tristan Ledford. He lives in North Carolina and was hit by the tropical storm. “When the storm started, I had to go outside and keep my boat tied down. The wind broke my damn umbrella and carried it into the

ocean. The trash cans were whipping around. It was pretty scary,” Ledford said. The storm’s heavy rain and strong winds resulted in power outages all over the Carolinas. Over 124,000 homes and businesses lost power over the course of the storm. There were reports of trees falling onto roads

Monika Walker and highways making it impossible for anyone to drive on them. Some were even being uprooted by the storm’s 43 mph winds. Ledford also said, “When you are inside, the storm itself is actually kinda cool. When you go outside, it is a little scary knowing that a piece of debris may hit you due to the extremely harsh winds.” Because of these potentially dangerous conditions, many were warned to stay inside the safety of their homes until things calmed down outside. NHL Prospect Tournament Over this past weekend, there was an NHL prospect tournament held in Traverse City which included 8 of the 31 NHL teams. These teams included the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers, and St. Louis Blues. This went from September 8 to September 12. The Columbus Blue Jackets have won the past two years, beating Detroit 5-2 in the finals last year. This year was pretty exciting with each team having their recent draft picks going in and playing for their team. For seventh place, the Dallas Stars went against NY Rangers and Dallas took seventh place with a 4-1 victory. For fifth place, the St. Louis Blues beat the Detroit Red Wings with a 5-1 victory. Our third place winner was the Carolina Hurricanes over the Minnesota Wild winning 5-0. Our new champions this year is the Chicago Blackhawks with a 3 -2 victory over Columbus Blue Jackets in overtime.

Alex DeBrincat netted two goals in the championship game, his second being the game winner. He was one of the prospects that shined the brightest during this tournament. He is 19 years old and had 4 goals, an assist, and a fight at the end of this tournament. Dylan Larkin, a former Red Wing prospect, was able to use this tournament to gain his spot in the lineup for the Red Wings. He talked about this tournament and said, “It’s pretty nerve-racking since every amateur scout and every professional scout from your respective team is there watching.” In the past, this tournament has shown some of the greatest NHL players which include Ilya Kovalchuk, Pavel Datsyuk, Dany Heatley, Henrik Zetterberg, David Legwand, Scott Hartnell, Martin Erat, Alexander Semin, and James Neal. Male Athlete of the Week: Eric Lehmann This week’s Male Athlete of the Week is senior Bay City Central football player Eric Lehmann. Coming into Central’s game vs Flint Powers, Lehmann shared his view on the tough loss to Powers last year. “The loss was a hard one, but was key in our growth as a team last season.” BCC was down by 28 in the

1st and came back hard in the 4th quarter but not enough to overthrow the gap. Lehmann

was critical in Central's last second win to Flint Powers this season however. Lehmann replied to the pivotal win stating “I was ecstatic, it was a major team win.” Lehmann plays both sides of the ball on offense and defense. Lehmann is a starting defensive end and center. Lehmann also has strong leadership character as a member of BCC Football Leadership Council. Lehmann’s position might not be flamboyant, but his play is known by all that go up against him. He received Saginaw All-Valley 1st Team Honors for his crucial role in BCC’s defense last year. Lehmann was critical in pushing Central to its first Playoff appearance since 2007. Lehmann’s goal for the team this year is to host a playoff game and finish the season strong. His

Is It 2017 or the ‘90s? Fashion seems to get increasingly more complex as time goes on. The 80’s and 90’s trends are making a comeback to our Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest feeds. On the other hand, there are trends that have never been seen before. Firstly, crocs are made for comfort. This trend is one that more than a few people are feeding into. Crocs simply aren’t made to look fashionable. Something I'm sure we can all agree with is that today's shoe choice is more based off looks, and not comfiness. Let that resonate deep into your subconscious in case you’re having second thoughts about the pair you saw at your local grocery store. A newer trend is feathered eyebrows. Before you stop reading to find out what that is, I’ll save you the trouble. If parting your eyebrow hair

Grad of the Week: Bradley Moses Bradley Moses, was a former high school student at BCC. He had graduated in 2012 at the age 17. Moses participated in many things, including the hockey team and was a honor student. After graduation Moses had decided to start off at Delta College for Physical Therapy. He had finished most of his classes but didn’t feel that was his career pathway. In 2014, Moses decided to move schools to Michigan State University with all of his friends. They had stayed in a small house on campus that was fit for five students, they managed to fit six, “Each person paid around $500 dollars a month just to stay in the house, so that wasn’t even just schooling expenses.” Moses had decided to try out for accounting and after just a few months of it, he stopped and a friend of his got him into the Marketing and Management program. He finished up

college in that program, at the end of 2016, Hormel Foods had flew him out to Minnesota for an interview and had flown him back. As soon as Moses had graduated he had a full job down in Wisconsin, they had provided him with enough money to buy an apartment that is almost like a house and still have money left over. Today, at age 22, Moses makes on average $58,000 plus bonus a year. He works 55 hours a week. His position at his jobs is a production supervisor, he oversees a production department and manages the several production line operators. He has traveled to Las Vegas twice, Florida, Colorado, Washington D.C., Chicago several times, Indianapolis, Cleveland, and Wisconsin. Moses wants all students to know to, “Do what you need to do now, so that you can do what you want later.”

A new tardy policy was set into place at the beginning of the third tri of the 2016-2017 school year at Bay City Central High School and is continuing on to the following year. The old tardy policy at BCC wasn’t working out because it wasn’t necessarily enforced, so the administrators had to come

up with a new one. The new policy is that students have to be on time to every class, and right when the bell rings, teachers shut their doors so they can’t enter. In order to be allowed into your classroom students have to go to a selected room on whichever floor they’re on and get a red ticket from an administrator. A red ticket is your key into your classroom. “The tardy policy is stupid,” says BCC senior, Madeline Bedell. Bedell isn’t a fan of the new tardy policy that is now enforced. “As long as I get to class, why does it matter if I’m on time?” Bedell knows how to hold her standards to the highest possible. BCC senior, Hallie LaFontaine loves the tardy policy, she used

The Wolves’ Howl Volume VI, Issue I Student of the Week Emily Kyllonen is 17 years old, and is a senior at Bay City Central High School. Growing up, Emily had a normal childhood, she went to Macgregor Elementary, then Handy Middle School. She lived with both parents until 2007, when her parents divorced and she continued living weekon, week-off, between her mom and dad. At seven years old Kyllonen joined cheer and made the sport her life. She stopped in 8th grade because she didn't want to continue her cheer career at Central. Another sport Kyllonen was also involved in was basketball. She started this activity in 3rd grade and played on Central's girls basketball team until her sophomore year. At home Kyllonen has 5 sisters, few related through her dad's new marriage and 2 brothers.

Chelsey Rouse Some of Kyllonen’s interests are sports, for obvious reasons. Some of Kyllonen’s other interests include horror movies and Christmas time, she explains, “That's the one time my whole family gets together and just has fun together and spend time with each other.” Another big part of Kyllonen’s life is Cosmetology. Emily was accepted into Bayshire Beauty Academy by the career center program at Central, she says, “Beauty and hair is a big part of my life and one of my main interests.” Kyllonen still has 9 months left in the program until she graduates and gets her license, she tells me, “This program is changing my life.” She explains that it's giving her the opportunity to continue in a career she would not be able to achieve on her own, and that it is going to open many doors for her

The Upcoming Wrestling Season This upcoming season the Wolves wrestling team looks to move forward from last seasons close lost against the Western Warriors. Last year, the Wolves got a new head, Coach Gregory Burlager. Burlager has done some great things, and is starting to turn the program around. The returning wrestlers didn't know what to think at first, they quickly connected with him. This year, two returning wrestlers look to make states. Marcos Facundo was very successful last year as stepping up for the team and making individual regionals. Nathan Creasy was out for a few weeks after receiving a shoulder injury, but came back to help the Wolves at team districts. Stepping up to the plate to not give up a void for the Wolves, Creasy went out and wrestled with practically one arm, showing his love

and dedication for the sport. Facundo and Creasy are going to be leading the team this year, as this is their senior year. They are going have big shoes to fill, and they need to keep all the underclassmen motivated to be the best they can be. Burlager looks to take home a district title this year and make some new improvements to help out the kids this season. He also hopes to be 2nd in the league this season right behind Davidson, and wants to send at least 4 kids to states this year. He seemed very excited and ready for the season to start already. future. A couple of Kyllonen’s most famous quotes include: “My butt looks really good in these pants, and I'm kind of upset that I have to wear this damn bookbag all day,” and, “I want some chicken nuggets.”

The Wolves’ Howl Volume VI Issue I The Last Ship Season 4 Review The Last Ship is a TV series that came out in 2014. It takes place on the USS Nathan James, a navy destroyer. The first season is about a deadly disease that spreads throughout the whole world. It wipes out almost all of the population, except for the crew of the Nathan James, because they were in the Arctic. They brought a scientist with them to look at some things and run some tests. They soon find out that the test was a setup to get the scientist to the Arctic to help find a cure. It’s now in season four, the crew has faced many challenges in the other seasons. Such as, the United States being governed by a leader that wanted to control everything. The biggest jump they made was finding the cure. Season four starts out with Mike Slattery being the new captain of the Nathan James, because the last captain, Tom Chandler, left the ship to have time for himself and his family. The new challenge they face in

this season is a disease that is spreading across the world, killing the crops and food. The only edible thing immune to the disease are some seeds that are being kept in a glass jar; many groups fight over the seeds. The Nathan James and Chandler split up in the beginning of the season. Chandler is somewhere in Greece with his two kids and some people that he met. There is a big group that tries to rule over the area and Chandler strategically is able to get into the group to see what’s going on. He finds out that the group’s leader, Georgio, is working with the people who are fighting for the seeds. This relationship eventually leads the Nathan James and it’s crew back to Chandler. Once all the groups find each other a ton of shooting happens and Slattery is left with the seeds and is injured. They look carefully for him and eventually rescue Slattery and bring him back to the ship. When Chandler gets on the ship he talks to eve-

Homecoming Handbook Homecoming can become stressful when deciding who to trust with the essentials for your look. After three years of experimenting with different places, I have found the best places to go. First let’s start with one of the most stressful parts, the hair. In Bay City, the Spencer Gellise Salon is a go-to spot. The salon is located at 1719 3rd St. All of the hairdressers are well trained and good with a variety of styles. They are also willing to help each other if one is stronger at a certain skill than the other. They also have reasonable prices, and you are guaranteed to walk out with confidence. Next up is the best place

Page 13 Jacob Murawski ryone, including Sasha Cooper, who he was close with before, and he says, “I left this ship for a reason.” She responds with, “And yet here you are. And as far as I'm concerned, it will always be your home.” The last episode left off with the Nathan James helping a stranded ship in the ocean, but it turns out that one person on the ship is bad and is planning to do something. Elly Villenueve to go to have your nails done. Five Star nails is the best spot in Bay City. You can have your nails done with a full set of acrylic, or gel nails. You also can have your natural nails painted with regular polish or a gel polish. Every nail tech is very good at their job. The prices are also very reasonable. The nail salon is located off of Euclid in the strip mall by Tropical Smoothie. Something else you can do to prepare for homecoming is to tan at Electric Beach tanning. A tan can bring out the color of your dress and brings the look together. You can get a cheap package in the stand up beds.

The life of a teenager in high school is stressful, overwhelming at times, and anxiety ridden. A teen may feel as though they are falling behind and will never catch up. Teens that feel stress build and build until a boiling point is reached aren’t alone. Some feel there is no possible way to get rid of all responsibility but one can find ways to cope with the stress and decisions that can save them from extra added stress. The first and most important piece of advice is, do not slack. Yes, I know it sounds like your parental figure, but believe me, you will thank yourself later. If you have an assignment and you know you have a few days to do it, stay

one step ahead and start and/or finish it the night it is assigned. If you have homework, do it as soon as you get home, because then you have the rest of the night to hangout with friends and relax, while feeling accomplished. A second piece of advice would be to stay organized. Having one notebook for all classes may seem like an efficient way to keep everything together, but on the contrary it only makes things more messy. Having a notebook for each class allows you the space for all that is needed for that class, along with not mixing it with other information for other classes. Keeping a planner is another helpful tool when it comes to organization.

Bay City Central

Elly Villenueve Having a planner goes along with staying on top of assignments, and helps to plan your time accordingly. Central High School English teacher Matthew Reid says, “Take advantage of electronic apps and devices. I stay organized by utilizing Google’s calendar, Google Docs, and their corresponding apps.”
